I found the strong mineral fade on this Anejo to be dissapointing.

Look: Light color for an anejo.
Sniff: Strong & complex.
Sip: Hard to explain. Comfortable, but with a tequila bite trying to make its way through.
After: Fades easily.

Overall: Different. Interesting if you have tried many anejos, but if this will be the one bottle you will every buy, there are better options.

I don't have anything very new to add. It is a reasonable sipping tequila. At $45 a bottle, I've been disappointed a great deal worse. Yes, there are better tequila's for the price, you just have to stumble around and find them.

Sauza Tres Generations Anejo ? NOM 1102 ? Tasted on 5/20/07 at 5:00pm. I purchased 1.5 ounces of this tequila at Cantina Del Cabo in Davis, CA and tasted it out of a 4 ounce glass. The tequila is golden in color and is aged for more than 3 years. Sauza Tres Generations Anejo aromas consist of intense fruit and floral aspects followed by moderate earth and vanilla. On the lighter side, this Anejo has mild aromas of spice and smoke. On the tip of tongue, this tequila is mellow and has an oily mouth feel. While the tequila has mild agave flavor, it is sweet-to-syrupy and has only a hint of bitterness. The flavor of this tequila contains intense flavors of fruit and floral followed by mild earth and spice aspects. Deeper flavors of Sauza Tres Generations Anejo consist of hints of vanilla and smoke. Upon finishing this tequila, there is a short duration of flavor and a subtle warm and tingly alcohol intensity. I have rated this tequila at 85 out of 100 points.

Not a great tequila...not a horrible tequila. However, considering what can be had out there for the same price...this is tequila that you skip.

Aroma: Heavy wood scents along with caramel and alcohol.
Initial Taste: Some sweetness, but a little bitterness and oak are present as well.
Body: Medium body. Wood dominates the body of this tequila.
Finish: Wood, some spice and a hint of anise on the finish. More "burn" than I would care to have in an anejo.

Sauza is a brand that everyone knows. That's the only conceivable reason that I can see someone spending $35-40 on this tequila instead of the numerous other ones out there.
