Default Ramirez Liquors

Ramirez has moved their website and updated it. They don't have pics of all the bottles yet but their selection is staggering and will have you drooling for sure. So many Tequilas, so little time

Unfortunately they are wrongfully charging tax on out of state shipments and their shipping rates are the highest I have seen. I would rather go to Hi Time Wine, better selection, pricing and better shipping costs, and they don't dishonestly charge tax for out of state purchases.

I haven't seen their new website, but do try to visit a few times a year just to make sure there isn't anything I really truly need. Carlos is great and indeed the selection is worth drooling over.

UPDATE: Ramirez will no longer ship out-of-state. I placed an online order yesterday, and today got the email. I had placed and received an order just a couple of months ago, so I asked if this was a new policy, and they confirmed. My order was in excess of $100, so I guess this is for real.

Carlos told me a couple of months ago he was thinking about pulling the plug on shipping, too much damage / breakage to make it worthwhile. Some bottles ship well, and some are a nightmare.

That is a bummer, I've ordered from them quite a bit in the past.

Hitime is better anyway when ordering from Cali. They just sent me another $5 off voucher, it may not seem much, but every little bit helps.

I may try an order from HiTimes, but their website says "beer and wine only" for my state, TN. That's what I liked about Ramirez - they would ship to my state without any questions.

If I can't order from Cali, my Fortaleza lifeline is cut-off!

Don't worry what the website says, just place your order, also if you can wait 5-7 days for it, just use ground shipping and you can save some money. They always do a great job of packing and I have had plenty of orders shipped from them to me at 3000 miles away and have never received anything broken.

Fortunately I live in between the two and manage to find reasons to visit a few times a year. HiTimes does have a loyalty system and will send out vouchers which provides another reason to go back.

Hi-Time won't ship to TN. I got the email this afternoon. Gsars, NY doesn't seem to have any restrictions, so no wonder they ship to you. Many of the southern states have laws against retail liquor importation. With Ramirez not shipping out-of-Cali now, I am SOL.
