Republic Tequila Plata

Republic Tequila Plata is 100% Blue Agave, and is proudly produced at La Quemada Distillery, one of Mexico's only certified organic distillers. Republic Tequila is handcrafted from estate grown blue agave, using traditional methods and natural aerobic fermentation. Unlike other distillers, La Quemada allows Republic Tequila to rest after it has been distilled in order to produce a purer, smoother spirit.

The smooth flavor of organic Republic Tequila Plata make it perfect for consuming neat or as an addition to any cocktail.

Republic Tequila is available in 2 bottle styles, a standard bottle and a unique Texas shaped bottle which pays tribute to the great state of Texas.

Awesome bottle...and the reviews told me that I had to buy it.

Aroma: Light agave scent...lots of earth and grassy notes.
Initial Taste: Sweet initial taste on the tip of the tongue is quickly overtaken with an earthy and minty flavor.
Body: Thin body that is very smooth with only a nice pleasant heat. The grassy and citrus notes are stronger than the agave and they didn't mix all that well on my palate. It's almost a bit bitter with the mint.
Finish: A very smooth finish that was very enjoyable (green olive). I wish the flavor was more my taste because even though it's wasn't I can tell that it was well crafted...it just wasn't my cup of tea. I don't like green olives. If you're a fan of El Tesoro Blanco you'd probably really like this tequila.

This is a great bottle and comes from a great distillery. I wish that I liked it more, but I just didn't. It's well priced in the $35 range. I have friends and family that will like it so it'll have no problem disappearing. It just won't be into my belly.

Being originally from Texas the bottle caught my eye so the presentation in my humble opinion was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by the initial taste very smooth the finish was clean, the body good, I'm not much for products labeled organic, but this tequila changed my mind, the price was reasonable, I am buying this brand again. I did not share this tequila with my friends, they were not worthy. A great tequila for the price.

My tequila sweet spot is in the reposados, but I decided to expand my horizons by purchasing a bottle of the Republic Tequila Plata. I was pleasantly surprized by the minty sweetness of this blanco and how smoothly it goes down. The Republic blanco has a light and sweet aroma. The flavor has an amazing minty sweetness throughout, with a bite at the finish to remind you that you are sipping a blanco. Very smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tequila to the experienced due to it's unique flavor, and it would be a good tequila to introduce the uninitiated to sipping as it is overall relatively mild and very smooth.

Tasted out of a snifter at home from a bottle brought back from Texas by a friend.
While I will always have a 'top 5' list. This plata sneaks its way into that list!! It's quite a refreshing taste and stands on its own in an industry full of new brands.. I highly recommend this one to blanco lovers!

Aroma: A nice clean nose of agave, grass and 'mint'.
Initial Taste: A thin mouth feel, with no bitterness. A sweet entry with an initial taste of sweet agave.
Body: A great tasting body of citrus, agave, and slight earth.
Finish: A lightly heated finish with that 'minty' agave lingering.

I REALLY want to try the rest of their line...
