Tequila Review
Tequila Corrido Cristalino Blanco
Tequila Corrido is produced from select blue Weber Single-Estate grown agave in the red soil of the highlands region of Jalisco. Los Altos Blue Weber agave is known for its higher sugar content, which provides this tequila with its characteristic great balance of crisp and floral aromas. The agave used in Corrido Cristalino are slow-cooked in tightly closed stainless steel ovens and are double distilled. With methods similar to Cognac distillation, we get rid of the "heads" and "tails" and take only the smallest "heart" of each distillate.
Similar to a Ballad, the Corrido is a musical form developed in Mexico, and specifically rose from a "Border Culture" along the Lower Rio Grande region, primarily between the mid 1800s and the 1930s. The Corrido became known as "musica de la frontera" (border music) because it was especially popular along the U.S.-Mexico border regions.

Aroma: The nose was sweet and pleasant with notes of fruit.
Initial taste: A nice agave flavor and the fruit/citrus flavors really come through.
Body: Medium to heavy body that coats the glass well. The flavor lasts nicely from the initial taste. A bit more spice comes through later.
Finish: A nice pleasant burn on the end with a nice long finish.
I really like Corrido. After the current bottles are gone, I'm sure that I'll quickly replenish. Along with Chinaco, this is one of my favorite brands.

I love the entire Corrido line. Consistency in flavor and a wonderful tequila throughout. With that said, this is my least favorite of the brand.

Aroma: Wet cement, black pepper. Quite unique.
Initial Taste: A very sweet entry, a thin mouth feel, with no bitterness.
Body: A beautifully rounded agave body, with ever so slight cinnamon and earth.
Finish: A slightly heated finish with a pleasant agave lingering.

Tasted out of a riedel glass at a Corrido tasting. This is quite possibly my favorite of the current new tequilas to hit the market. Usually, the aroma is sort of like my 'lead in' as to whats coming. This one took me by surprise..In this case, the aroma was a little misleading to me, but that's fine because what came next was quite tasty. I think its good to be thrown off your familiar path from time to time. An excellent definition of blanco.
