So I went out to the liquor store and just couldnt find anything agave that sounded great to me at the time with our small selection in town. So I ventured out for something different. I havent tried any good rums before. Just the commercial products...Bacardi...etc.
However I did buy some Appleton Estate V/X before for under 20.00. It was decent at best.
But I decided to step it up a notch and I found some Pyrat Rum XO Reserve in the short fat bottle with a cork top. It was about 35.00 and the lady at the counter said it was good (but when do they really ever tell you it isnt?)
Does anyone have an idea on how this rum compares to others, its aged in American Oak and Limousine Oak; which brings me to my next question....What else is aged in Limousine Oak (I have never heard of it; any agave products aged that way?)....
Any quick drink ideas for Rum, besides Cola
(By the way, Patron makes this so hopefully the rum is decent)...and to fix any confusion...This is not the 205.00 bottle of Pyrat Cask Rum (which is aged 40 years...may be interesting but not in my budget)...)
