Default Firearms

I was curious if anyone is interested in firearms on this forum. I have completed some training courses and about to get my CHL. I have a Browning 12 Guage Over and Under I use for dove hunting and as a knockaround toy. I also have a Ruger P-95 9mm Semi Auto that I just recently bought and have been practicing with.

Does anyone else enjoy firearms and have any credentials associated with them? Or does anyone enjoy hunting?

I would put fire arms in the same category as Politics and religion......be careful.

I guess in Texas its more of a sports or recreation type of thing. Although some can be very opinionated.

No doubt about it, fire arms are a way of life in certain parts of the country.

There is just so many bad things in the news associated with guns and killings that an open discussion in a "tequila" forum on fire arms could get ugly in my onion.

I will take your "onion" to heart blagave and I do apologize if it was offensive and we can end the topic here. I'm all about my second amendment right as a citizen of the United States but you are right...a public thread in a tequila related forum would not be the best place to discuss recreational hobbies that some my not deem appropriate. If you would like to discuss firearms further with me, just send me a PM and we can debate or glorify gunmenship anytime.

Okay, I don't mind rolling around in the mud with you a bit. Why, in your opinion, should all forms of firearms be readily available? I realize it's in the constitution of the US, but so is the right to form militias. And clearly this is now illegal as we've all seen what it did for Oklahoma City, yet this provision is a "guaranteed" right under our constitution....

I love to shoot! I do combat courses (Steel Challenge style) with a few friends every other month. Great competition.
My best friend does the 3 gun cowboy shoots. Looks like a blast!

BN....your timing is perfect. Today is the 10 year anniversary of the Columbine shooting that took 13 lives and injured 23 others. Just recently 3/10/09, 13 dead at the hands of a licensed gun owner in Binghampton N.Y. Also, let's not forget about Virgina tech massacre, which took 32 lives at the hands of a gunman and what about the everyday shootings........the list goes on and on of senseless killings by guns owned by individuals.

Since you are only 22 years old, I would guess some of these tragedies you would not be all that aware of.

I personally have lost someone by a gun and there death was senseless.

I am very concerned with the world we live in. It is becoming way to frequent where an individual that owns a gun and decides for what ever reason that the rest of the world has wronged him or her in some way, so instead of dealing with hardships in life they decided to make things right in there own mind, by "KILLING" innocent people that might be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

As I said before, you are opening a can of worms. You are correct, that you have the freedom to bare arms and freedom of speech.......I guess I have over stepped my bounds by suggesting that this was a place to discuss tequila instead of Firearms.

Well Don Azul, I have lots of of opinions regarding firearms. For ONE, I do not feel that ALL types of firearms should be readily available to everyone. This has caused what has become a gruesome society with firearms ending up in hands of people who should have no business with them. But you have to remember that the wrong people caused this, not the guns or ammunition.

Although, I feel the government can and should step in soon. It is way too easy to get a gun. All it took for me was a drivers license, clean record, and a chunk of money. People need to be psychologically sound to be able to purchase a gun and get proper licensing and training to own a firearm.

I feel the government should regulate firearms in more ways than they are doing now. This will not keep all violence down, but it would be a start. Every person deemed fit in America should be allowed to some degree, a right to bear arms...and also start a milita as you have noted.

I won't go in to all of my views as I am not trying to start some sort of argument because I am open minded. More just expressing my opinion torwards something I am passionate about and also allowing other opinions to be expressed as well. I am not trying to be some kind of redneck set in my ways of firearms at all as you might see in a movie. I would like to be the complete opposite and would love conversing about the topic to those that would like to do so.

There is one thing that I can say about tequila and guns. The two do not go together at all but that is why this is in the "This That and Other" thread.
