Top Rated Tequilas for under $40

After going through the results from the 2007 SF World Spirits Competition, I am happy to say that there are still many top rated tequila brands under $40 dollars. There are 8 double gold winners in that price range, 5 gold medal winners, and tons of silver and bronze.

Another one that should be on that list is: Casa San Matias Peublo Viejo Orgullo Anejo ( I hope I titled it correctly) . I got a tip from a website in Costa Mesa, Ca, for a liquor store called Hi-Time Wine Cellars. I read their review and then spoke with a very knowledgable employee about this tequila and tried it. All I can say it 'Wow', very good, I will give it a full review of it when if it is put in the review database. Their price at the time of my purchase was $37.99 a bottle, what a steal!!! I'll be ordering more soon!!!

Hi Times is great, they have Casa Noble Crystal for 29, El Tesoro Reposado 33, Corralejo 19... and more.

I also like Bevmo you get great deals with the Bevmo card, I think Don Julio is priced down this month...

Casa Noble for 29 is a steal. Between Hi-Time, Mission Liquor, and Shoppers Vineyard, they seem to have it covered.

I tried this Tequila recently at a friends in Texas and I was impressed as well, it held up quite well against some very high end Anejos we tasted that night. Its a deal to be had thats for sure, I say its as good as the Tonala Suprema 4 year.(or better) A note to the collector I have heard the labeling will change a bit after the first batch is sold out....

Don Eduardo anejo (about $32 @ the Beverage Depot) to me is a really good anejo for under $40, but it does carry a very strong smoking taste,however the reposado ($27) is sooo smooth, and probably my favorite table tequila ,out of the don eduardo line, the silver($23) is awesome for margaritas, and mixed drinks, not to mention , in certain food recipes.
