Tequila Tres Mujeres Reposado

Tequila Tres Mujeres is 100% Blue Agave, all-natural Tequila. Tres Mujeres blue agave is grown and hand selected from the Melendrez family's privately owned fields. The agave is then steamed (never broiled) for over 40 hours to cook in the moistness and flavor.  Our agave is fermented naturally over the course of a week, not mixed with chemicals and rushed, as are most Tequilas.  The agave is then double distilled for a smoother taste.  Finally, Tres Mujeres is aged in only the finest white oak barrels for approximately 6 months, to provide a smooth, honey oaken flavor and aroma.  This 100% natural spirit contains no added flavors, sugars or colors, just pure authentic Tequila Reposado.

You first see the bottle and you think...is this a tequila, or a sassy canteen? Maroon pleather and leopard print doesn't necessarily scream authenticity from the highlands of Jalisco, but like I've always said: If the juice inside is good...I don't really care about the packaging.

Price: $30/bottle
Aroma: Earthy agave, smoke, clay and a hint of dark chocolate. The nose says "bitter."
Initial Taste: Some initial agave sweetness, but also a bit of a mediciney taste.
Body: Light color and thin body for this one. Hints of dark chocolate and oak, but the overall flavor is bitter and like a bad cough syrup.
Finish: Nothing special to speak of. I guess I should be glad the flavors didn't linger for too long.

This is not a good tequila. The flavors aren't good, the packaging is poor. I'm not even sure I would bother mixing this one. Maybe if I dump it I can sell the bottle to a bejeweled hiker. I do not recommend this one.

Very sour and cough mediciney tasting...Maybe I had a bad bottle...It had a sour aroma and was sour throughout...

Just something Id not soon try again.. Sorry..

Tres Mujeres Reposado NOM 1466 Tasted 3/4/07. Tres Mujeres Reposado is a yellow golden color. Aromas consist of intense earth and floral scents followed by moderate fruit, smoke, and spice scents. The first sip of the tequila has no bitter and has a low amount of sweetness. The types of flavors Tres Mujeres Reposado has include moderate agave, earth, and fruit. On the mild side, there are spice, floral, and smoky flavors. The tequila finished with a medium to short duration of flavor and a mildly numbing alcohol intensity. I awarded Tres Mujeres Reposado the rating of “B/B+” overall.
