Had some friends over for a tequila taste test with this and five other silvers, Avion, El Don, Espolon, Karma and Siete Leguas. we all commented on aroma initial taste body finish the whole works. Cava de Oro was hands down second only to El Don. Great agave sweetness and finish, smooth and as enjoyable as can be. Not only that but only the espolon was cheaper in price and the Cava De Oro won best presentation beyond a doubt. I can't wait for my next bottle. overall rating 94

My first experience with the Cava de Oro brand. I had now knowledge of anything about it, but the price was right and I liked the hand blown bottles.

Aroma: Very basic aroma of sweet agave, citrus and a little extra sweetness like vanilla.
Initial Taste: Sweet agave. That's about it.
Body: Medium body, semi-oily. A nice mouth feel that allows you to taste the agave and fruit with only a very minor pepper flavors.
Finish: Not that much to speak of. Fairly short in duration and pretty mild in terms of spice finish. No burn to speak of at all...very smooth.

This is a pretty good entry level tequila. The price is under $30, the bottle is nice looking and the flavors are such that it won't scare away new folks to tequila. The finish is also fairly mild. All in all, a pretty darn good buy. I'll be on the look out for another tequila from this brand.

Tasted 09/23/08 out of double ball glass. Cava De Oro was a very pleasant surprise for me. At $27 for a bottle, I didn't know what to expect, but I took the recommendation of the liquor store clerk and boy did he come through! A very subtle yet unique aroma. A smooth tasting experience throughout, and a handmade bottle that screams 'Mexico!'. This tequila brought back memories of visiting the town of Tequila. A GREAT blanco for new tequila drinkers.

Aroma: A citrus nose with very vanilla notes.
Initial Taste: An oily moth feel, upon entry, it was sweet, but not too sweet, with no bitterness.
Body: A subtle yet present body of agave, earth, and pear. Nice combination.
Finish: Sadly, a short semi heated finish.
