Tequila Alquimia Blanco

Tequila Alquimia Blanco is bottled directly after distillation. It is the truest expression of pure Tequila, as it is not influenced by aging in oak barrels.

Tequila Alquimia Blanco makes a refreshingly pure margarita when mixed with fresh citrus juices, and is also very nice to sip.

Tequila Alquimia is an ultra premium award-winning organic tequila. Our handcrafted product is 100 % natural, USDA Certified Organic, made of 100% blue agave Tequilana Weber. All of our certified organic agave is estate grown on our family ranch in Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico.

We carefully select the best and healthiest agaves, only harvesting plants that are at their peak of quality and ripeness. Our quality control process demands that we closely monitor the cooking, fermentation and distillation at every single step. This ensures that our tequilas are consistently of the highest quality possible.

Our project is completely sustainable and eco-friendly. Our tequilas are bottled in specially designed bottles made of recycled glass by a family of glass blowers in Tonalá, Jalisco. All aspects of our artisanal production reflect a proper balance of the old world and the new: a combination of alchemy, modern science, and rich culture. The making of Tequila Alquimia is just as much an art as it is a science.

The nose has a slight herbaceousness and mint, with a hint of earth. Taste continues with mint and pepper with an underlying sweetness. The body has a medium-to-light mouth feel, a bit of oiliness - seems appropriate for a blanco. A quick, heated finish, with a nice aftertaste of mint and cinnamon.

It is a nice blanco with balance and complexity, although rather expensive. It would be a better value for $10 cheaper. They do have an attractive bottle.

My third tasting from the Alquimia line. After the first two I expect nothing short of greatness from this line. Tequila Alquimia has a great authentic quality that makes it unique. Bottoms up for the blanco...

Aroma: A ton of agave with nice floral aromas and just a hint of earth.
Initial Taste: A wonderful initial taste of cooked agave with floral notes and a hint of citrus zest.
Body: Still a huge taste of agave with floral notes, light earth and fruit.
Finish: Lots of agave pepper kick with lingering fruit and a bit of a numbing alcohol finish.

For people looking for a sipper with a ton of agave flavor, this fits the bill. From the sweet cooked agave entry to the spicy/peppery finish Alquimia Blanco shows why the entire line has the big authentic agave flavor. The bottle looks great and the juice is an overall winner. Even though it has a premium price tag, the juice merits it. Well done Mr. Murillo.

Purchased a bottle from Hi Time for $46 on 10/21/08. Tasted out of a snifter. I'm so glad I finally got around to getting a bottle of this. I am very impressed. A pretty consistent tasting throughout. An excellent sipper, and I can say I will definitely be getting another bottle. Excellent job Dr. Adolfo Murillo!

Aroma: A very intense aroma of floral and agave.
Initial Taste: A thin mouth feel. Upon entry it's sweet with no bitterness. First taste was floral.
Body: An intense agave body with great compliments of fruit and floral.
Finish: A semi heated finish of long duration, with a lingering floral aftertaste.

PS: Great cork top, it's nice to see someone is paying attention to that.

Alquimia Blanco NOM 1468 Tasted on 1/27/08 at 7:00pm. I tried this tequila out of a Riedel. With a clear color, this tequila has intense floral and earthy aromas. Other aromas include moderate spice and fruit with hints of smoke. The tequila has a thin mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with no bitterness. Alquimia Blanco has intense flavors of floral and agave followed by moderate notes of fruit. With a medium duration of flavor, tastes of mild spice, earth, and smoke bring this tequila to a numbing finish. Alquimia Blanco has received the rating of 90 points out of 100.
