Cazadores Anejo NOM 1487 Tasted 4/2/07. This tequila is golden brown in color and has a intense aromas of floral and earth. There are also moderate aromas of fruit, vanilla, and caramel followed by mild spice and smoke. A mellow taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a sweet and low bitter tequila taste. The Cazadores Anejo flavor contains intense flavors of floral and earth followed by moderate agave, fruit, and spice accents. Mild notes of vanilla, caramel, and smoke also accompany this tequila. Cazadores Anejo finishes with a medium-to-long duration of flavor and a numbing alcohol feeling. This tequila has been awarded the overall rating of an A-.

Bought it duty free in Mexico and was already late. Bottom line, it was a hit and run...

In any case, I am not a pro but what I do look for is an "oh nice" when you smell it, first sip needs to be "oh nice" as well and finally sit down and try to figure what you are tasting. Yes, sweet, buttery, nutty and tons of other tasts come to mind.

With this one I had an "oh nice" feeling (chocolaty comes to mind), first sip was surprisingly mild (I did check the proof to make sure this was Tequila, as I said, hit and run at the aurport).

The aftertaste was nice. Makes you wonder what the next sip brings and if it would enhance it or maybe switch over to something else.

And I sampled every single bar/Tequila in Mexico DF (it did feel like that next morning) from expensive to medium to 'insider tips'. This one is good.

A good Anejo, but seems to lack the subtle flavors of the better anejos.

Bright gold in the Reidel glass, wood and smoke are the predominant aromas - earth and vanilla soon appear. Somewhat heavy in the mouth, its sweet opening fails to lead to much. There is little agave presence to distinguish this product from other aged spirits. It fades away slowly, but without much fanfare and no memorable notes, other than its pervasive woodiness and a lingering alcohol burn. Price is modest - but you get what you pay for. I will not be buying this anejo again.

bought 2/15/10, Paid $40, it looks good, bottle is nice but once in the glass its all down hill from there. Not much of a nose, i smell to figure out what is ahead. If I knew I would not have drank it. This is the worst $ I have spent on tequila, dare I say worse than Patro$#@! agh. Maybe I,m a bit of a snob, with over 20 quality anejos at my disposal my taste buds went on strike here. Im not gona get it to it here. Its not that cheap and has no saving grace. Avoid this agave.
