I really liked the blanco from this line so I had high expectations since I tend to like reposados quite a bit if the blanco is good.

Aroma: Fruity sweetness that also has a maple syrup sort of scent to it.
Initial Taste: A nice sweet entry, but not quite an agave flavor. It's a combination of fruit and floral with a touch of caramel.
Body: Thin body and very light color. The agave flavor and oak combine with the fruit sweetness for a light and pleasant body.
Finish: A light finish that is short and without a strong spice. The oak comes through a bit more at the very end.

This is a good tequila. But for a $40+ price point, I don't think that I'd recommend this to others given the laundry list of really good tequilas out there in that price range. The nose is fantastic. The tequila itself didn't quite follow suit.

1 1/2 oz at room temperature in a mini snifter.
A sweet, fruity scent is followed by the same taste. I like the fruity taste, it sets it apart from the other tequilas, while still tasting like tequila. It is smooth and goes down easy with no burn and a light finish.
If only it was sold in stores in my area.

Tasted 07/25/08 out of high ball glass. This reposado was smooth, yet just a little to sweet for my taste buds. I think the sweetness takes away from the taste, if that makes any sense. In my opinion, their blanco is much better. Still, this is not a bad reposado by any means.

Aroma: Very caramel, fruity and floral.
Initial Taste: An oily mouth feel for me. Upon entry, it's very very sweet, with no bitterness.
Body: Nice cooked agave, with bold caramel and floral notes.
Finish: A heated finish of medium duration with no alcohol burn.

Herencia Mexicana Reposado NOM 1079 Tasted on 7/16/08 at 7:00pm. I tried this tequila at Pueblo Chico Cantina in El Dorado Hills and tasted it in a glass similar to a snifter. With a pale yellow golden color, this tequila has intense floral and fruity aromas. Other aromas include minimal earth and spice with a hint of vanilla. The tequila has a thin to medium mouth feel and on the first sip it has too much sweetness (in my opinion) but at least there is no bitterness. Intense flavors of fruit and moderate to intense floral and agave are followed by mild spice. Hints of earth, vanilla, and wood are also present. With a medium to long duration of flavor this tequila finishes with a slightly numbing finish. Herencia Mexicana Reposado has received the rating of 87 points out of 100.

This is an excellent tequila, it is a model of what to look for in an "average" priced reposado. It is consistant from beginning to end, smooth, and good depth of flavor!
