Hussong's Reposado Tequila

Hussongs Reposado Tequila represents the ultimate in perfection. Made from the finest Agave Tequila and bottled by hand in stoneware jugs.

Imported and bottled in the United States by McCormick Distilling Company

The extra image below the main mixto bottle shows a version that was just 1% shy of making the 100% Agave category. Almost Hussong's, good effort.

I've been to the Hussong's in Ensenada and in Vegas...so I had to try this tequila.

Aroma: Honestly, it wasn't good. It was almost medicinal. Notes of vanilla and agave and alcohol.
Initial Taste: Sweeter than the nose would indicate, but nothing noteworthy.
Body: Thick and almost like cough syrup. The flavor was decent, but not good enough to make me want to drink a lot more.
Finish: An unexpected minty element to the finish, which leads me to believe that's what led to the odd aroma.

Great bottle, mediocre tequila. In the price range, you can flat out do much better.

Tasted in a caballito on March 12, 2008 showing lasting legs on the glass.

Hussong's Reposado

Color: amber agave nectar
Aroma: vanilla
Taste: chocolate mint with light body and a nice burn from beginning to end

Hussong's Reposado has the burn of a blanco, but the nice rested taste of a reposado. The jug bottle design represents this Tequila very well as you'd expect a strong Tequila to be poured. Great reposado for cocktails or sipping straight.
