Patron Tequila Silver

Patron Silver Tequila - Patrón Silver is a crystal clear, pure ultra-premium tequila. This soft and light tequila is characterized by a fresh, smooth taste, without the flavor of oak.

Patron History: The original Patron Tequila was produced by Tequila Siete Leguas, and brand rights were sold to St. Maarten Spirits, owners John Paul DeJoria (Paul Mitchell Hair Products) and Martin Crowley in 1989. As the brand grew, Tequila Siete Leguas was no longer able to keep up with production, and Patron built a new distillery and moved all production in 2002.

This was my first tequila years ago. New to the tequila world I thought it was expensive compared to what I had been drinking. I made terrible drinks with it due to my inexperience but often enjoyed it neat. This tequila is popular and got my drinking tequila but did not kick my obsession into what it is now.

A good starter tequila, especially for the I-don't-drink-tequila crowd. Converts many of the wary.

Great marketing and presentation, but underwhelming nose, body, finish, and price. You are paying for a label and a massive ad budget, rather than true quality.

I don't hate Patron. Actually, I love it, because it introduced me to a spirit that I love. But, I have moved on, as my palette has become more sophisticated. There are far better values and experiences to be had.

Aroma: Citrus, alcohol, tiny bit of agave.

Taste/Body: Watery body with not much going on besides alcohol and a little citrus. Not much agave going on.

Finish: Quick heat that disappears immediately. Slight tingle on the tongue and lips.

In Iowa Patron Silver retails at $50 making it highly overpriced for what you get. Nice bottle though.

This is probably my favorite from the Patron lines. Probably because I've had it so many times that I just know what to expect...and that's exactly what it delivers.

Aroma - Not much to it. Slight alcohol scent, but pleasant.
Taste - There is a very light agave taste.
Body - Thin.
Finish - Easy, smooth and not much to it. Very easy to drink.

Price - At $29.99 at Costco and a lot of other stores on sale, it's an easy tequila to get, mix and is affordable. As with all of the Patron types, the bottle is very nice.

Patron Blanco is a decent tequila and I'll credit it for leading me to enjoy tequila after my initial poor experiences. I personally prefer the Reposado or Anejo and have found others more enjoyable. Still, it is a good introduction to the spirit.
