Default Adding stuff to a margarita.

I've heard of about every kind of fruit margarita pretty much out there. My question is what are the best. I cant stand a Strawberry Margarita...I've heard of a Melon Margarita with Midori Melon, or blue margaritas with Blue Curacao(sp?)...I've even heard of mango and stuff but I dont want to go buy these supplies without knowing if its going to be wonderful. What do yall reccomend me doing if my girlfriend doesnt like the traditional margarita like I do, shes all about that fruit and vodka styled drinks and I think the lime and agave are just too much by themselves for her. So if yall have some secret recipes or actual bartender recipes for great drinks let me know.

And have you heard of this, I really am thinking about trying it.

Peach Cobbler Margarita
1.5oz Blanco Tequila
Traditional method for margarita mix (lime juice, agave nectar)
1 oz blue curacao(sp?)
6 Blueberries
4 Slices of peach

Supposidly you muddle the blueberries and peaches at the bottom of a mixxer and then add the margarita mix, tequila, and blue curacao. Shake well and strain over ice. Top off with a slice or 2 of peaches.

That sounds like a dessert to me...

Dunno about all the fruit... I suppose it would be good, but like you say, more like a dessert!

I will, however, quite often add blue curacao to a marg... love the bluish-green colour!

And I do have a 'secret' margarita recipe that I call 'The Tropical Storm' ... It's a winner! But that is described only to those people that I serve it to!

Trying to stay away from too much sugar - I usually drink tequila straight, but used to love the Cadillac Margaritas with Grand Marnier.

I like good tequila straight most of the time, although its a nice finish to sip on a fine anejo and follow it by a well made margarita.

I tasted a honey dew melon margarita, man it was great had the taste of melon, but it wasn't too sweet or overpowering, and still had the great taste of a traditional margarita.

That sounds really good. I dont like my margaritas frozen, I dont know how you would squuze the juice out of a honney dew melon but if you pureed in a blender I bet it comes out good. Was yours frozen or on the rocks?

And PRJack, where are those pictures? :-D

Well they actually are on the rocks, and they muddle the melon on the bottom, the smell of melon is awesome, really refeshing.

They also make a really good cucumber margarita, with a little chile powder rimmed all around the glass, awesome.
