Who wants to be a Tequila Expert?

Ricardo Cisneros, the Master Tequilier that was a judge in the 2008 Agave Spirits Challenge is putting together a series of classes to begin training for a "Tequila Expert" classification. This will be a certification endorsed by the CRT and the University del Caribe of Cancun, Mexico.

The classes run from June 23rd to June 30th, 2008, and will include daily classes covering Tequila history, production and fabrication, aromas of Tequila, art of tastings, and the CRT and their importance. Included is a trip to Guadalajara and distillery visits, and one free day in GDL.

Who would benefit from this?
Tequila Friendly Restaurant / Bar owners and managers, Tequila Industry Professionals, and others interested in attending a week long course on Tequila.

At the end of this initial course you will be designated as a "Certified Tequila Tasting Expert", and additional courses and travel to Mexico distilleries will enable you to receive the designation of "Tequilier". Further details, cost, and exact itinerary will be provided to me soon and I will post them here.

Wow that would be awesome, but we'd have to fly down to Mexico for a week to get certified correct?

Correct, Monday through Thursday will be classes at the University del Caribe in Cancun. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be spent in Guadalajara, and coming back to Cancun on the following Monday, or you can fly out of GDL if that makes more sense.

I'd love to be a tequila expert but I don't think my wife would be willing to change our anniversary vacation in Hawaii. I might have to wait for the online course.
