Specific Gravities - Chambord & Blue Curacao
I've just started to play with layering drinks, and the internet tells me that Chambord has a higher SG than Blue Curacao (both these figures appear to be brand-specific, so should be correct), but this never seems to work - the BC always tries to sink to the bottom.
Is this just crap technique on my part (I do pour it over the back of a spoon) or is it likely that the figures are wrong? The figures I have are:
DeKuyper Blue Curacao: 1.07
Chambord Raspberry Liqueur: 1.128
So theoretically the BC should stay on top, but it never does...I was hoping to do a grenadine/chambord/blue curacao layer from bottom to top (so kinda red/purple/blue) with something else on top (undecided as of yet).
Can anyone shed any light?
Or am I better off asking this question on a bartending/cocktail type forum (can anyone reccomend a good one?)
I know that's a lot of questions :P
Thanks in advance.
