Default Which Fortaleza - OPNION SOUGHT

Still haven't been able to snare a bottle of Fortaleza but will continue my efforts. I was going to get the repo as it has been well-reviewed and sort of represents middle of the line. However, many of you on T.N seem to REALLY like the blanco, listing in as one of your top blancos or even top tequilas.

So, right now I can only afford one.

Which will it be

BLANCO or REPO?

My vote would be for the Blanco. As someone on the forum coined the term - it is like tequila crack.

I have also been told and somewhat believe that if you really want to taste the true flavor of the juice you should start with the blanco in the line. As the tequila ages it picks up different flavors - due to the cash, additives and general aging - that usually improves the taste but covers a bit of the true agave.

Through my own tasting I have found that frequently when trying a flight of blanco, reposado and anejo one stands out from the other two. For me in the Forteleza line it is the blanco - although I do enjoy the reposado and anejo as well.

I am very new to Tequilas, but even from my limited experience, I would go with the Blanco!

Blanco lot 4, repo lot 3 or 5 (preferably lot 5, but 3 will do) . Once you've had either of these, it's hard to feel the same for the other lots.

I understand what you mean about one standing out. I feel that way about a few. For instance, Corralejo, it's clearly the repo that is the pick. So far, I like the Casa Noble blanco better than the repo (but have not tried the anejo). Looks like I'm headed towards.......THE CRACK!

Er, I mean, The Blanco!

(and of course I'm a fool for blancos anyway).

How do you distinguish which lot. Is it clearly labeled on all brands?

On all brands? No. On Fortaleza/Los Abuelos? Yes.
