Tequila Chamucos Reposado Especial

Chamucos Reposado Especial Tequila - 100% Blue Agave Tequila, preserved in white oak barrels for seven months, and packaged in a hand blown glass bottle.

Since the birth of Chamucos Tequila, it has been a creative and unique product. It was created by a movie director, a famous caricaturist, and a young businessman, giving life to an artistic, amusing label, full of personality. In the beginning they would share this Tequila with their friends. What started out as a game ended up building a serious organization gaining a part of the Tequila market.

Older bottles were produced at Tequila Quiote, NOM 1433. Tequila Chamucos moved to Feliciano Vivanco y Asociados, NOM 1414, in 2008, and again to Premium de Jalisco, NOM 1558 in 2010.

The unique packaging features cut-outs that are easily folded out to create a three dimensional conversation piece.

Balanced flavor and complex. No one flavor dominates over the rest. Agave, spice, pepper, agave, sweet. This is a fairly smooth and balanced tequila, but mild in its presentation. A little warm, but not hot.

I purchased this tequila after reading a review. The packaging is a fun extra to the purchase. I enjoy assembling the Boogie Man box and it's a great conversation piece. The bottle is a simple, blown glass design. I found this to be really good sipping tequila. I wouldn't recommend mixing it or slamming as it would be a waste not to enjoy the flavor. I experience a very light and woody undertone flavor; extremely smooth to drink, a sweetness to it with a pepper taste with the swallow. It has a coating to the tongue with a nice lingering effect. I don't drink it with meals; it is for my relaxing time and sharing with good conversation. This one is the best I've tried to date and I will continue to purchase it as my go to drink.

Interesting tequila to be sure. It all starts with the fold out cardboard box. It shows that the craftsmen thought of the little things.

Aroma: Sweet agave and vanilla with a hint of fruit and spice.
Initial Taste: A nice light sweetness and spice and pepper notes.
Body: Thin mouth feel. The sweetness fades into a spicy and smokey agave flavor. Very surprising based on the nose and initial taste.
Finish: The smokey flavor continues and then at the very end you get a nice spicy vanilla linger. A nice end to an interesting tequila journey.

I have a feeling that if I tasted this 5 times that it might be a bit different every single time depending on food, number of previous drinks and even mood. A solid tequila that is worth having in your collection...even if the box/bottle weren't as fun.

Bought Tequila Chamucos in Jersey City, NJ. It was one of the few opportunities we found to purchase this Tequila. We use cabalitos that were included with a purchase of Hijos de Villa Reposado. Really enjoy the bottle and the glass thickness. The box is a hoot., glad to have it. Sweet, fruity with a strong sense of the oak barrel aging. A very pleasant mild alcohol burn. For my palate, very different from other reposados. I would recommend this tequila and would definitely purchase it again.

Chamucos Reposado has a light amber color and comes in a hand blown glass bottle. First taste is mild citrus to very mild spice. (No caramel taste at all.) The finish is a mild smoke with very little alcohol taste and very smooth and drinkable. For me, the clean smoke finish with very little alcohol aftertaste is really what makes Chamucos such an enjoyable Reposado. The price is around $38 to $45 and well worth the money for what you get. It's not easy to find but worth the effort.
