Partida Anejo - Deep copper in appearance, with medium to full body. Nose is medium intensity, filled with wood, vanilla, and light agave. Sweet citrus initial taste, with hints of vanilla, turning to a light wood and agave finish. Subtle hints of whiskey throughout the body. Mild heat on swallow, with spice and vanilla aftertaste.

Great looking bottle, premium price...Either the craftsmanship will shine through...or it's all marketing.

Aroma: Agave, floral notes and a medicinal smell. Not all all what I would expect from an anejo. It almost smells like a house plant with the grassy & floral notes.
Initial Taste: Agave, citrus and hints of spice. Not a big overall initial flavor. Hints of smoke as well.
Body: Medium body...thin for an anejo. Light hints of vanilla combine with the earthy agave for a nice sweetness and a touch of smoke.
Finish: It finishes more like a blanco or reposado than an anejo. There's plenty of agave and pepper notes in the finish and it lasts for a long time. The aging does make it pretty smooth. The linger is a floral/grassy pepper which is very unique for something aged over 12 months.

It's a fine tequila, but if I'm looking for something with some aging properties, I'm not going to this one...especially at the premium price that they charge for Partida. It's good, but the anejo label seems like a lie and the price isn't merited by the juice within.

I tried this in a snifter at home after my brother picked it up for my in NY for $62.

At first blush I was disappointed with the nose on this - more alcohol smell than I was expecting (even more than some cheap brands) with a strong floral aroma, but as it sat for just a couple minutes it opened up with some softer floral notes, nut, and honey. Not one of my favorite smelling tequilas, but I don't drink it for the smell, which became very clear to me as soon as I tasted this beauty!

A very sweet initial taste full of butter, carmel, citrus, agave, smoke and vanilla. I was very delighted when this hit my tongue. It is thick, but not too syrupy - a very nice consistency.

The finish was nice and long with a nice presence of the sweet agave, slight citrus, vanilla, and a hint of smoke, but also a bit more of an alcohol presence than I expected. Very good tequila... one of the most interesting I've tried, and certainly one I'll be having more of!

Partida Anejo NOM 1454. I purchased this bottle on 12/27/08 for $46.00. I had seen it normally priced at $65.00 at other stores...perhaps it was mispriced? The nice medium amber color showed nicely through the attractively shaped bottle. I sampled 2 ozs. from a snifter at my Tequila Bar. The nose was intense & earthy. The first sip was filled with agave flavor, smooth vanilla & a smokey finish. I especially enjoyed the finish of this anejo because of because of how nicely the intense fruity, agave flavor stood up to the smoke. There was a slight sweetness with no bitterness at all. This anejo will certainly move up high on my top anejos list.

Partida Anejo NOM 1454 Tasted 6/20/07 at 9pm. On this date I tried this tequila at Grad Tequila Bar using a snifter. This tequila is an amber brown color and has an intense aroma of floral and earth with moderate caramel and fruit. There are also mild spice and hints of smoke. A mellow taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a semi sweet sensation with no bitterness. The Anejo flavor contains intense agave and earth flavors with moderate floral, caramel, and wood. The tequila also has hints of fruit, vanilla, spice, and chemicals. Partida Anejo finishes with a long duration of flavor and a slightly numbing alcohol feeling. This tequila has been awarded the overall rating of 91 points out of 100.
