Insane!!
Training wheels? No mas! I remember being there. It was so sad. Any interest in tequila started with a friend bringing over a bottle of Cabo Wabo. Today, I say it with the same tone I say Patron with. Two very popular brands that I just don't buy ever. I can see the tequila masters off in the distance. Their collections and knowledge amaze me. Then I look down and see someone using salt and lime and think....tsk tsk tsk. I can barely drink a margarita anymore because I feel like I'm wasting the tequila I'd rather sip. |

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I keep finding interesting posts in different sections of the forum. Yeah, that video is pathetic. And I thought they were experts in old Mexico!
Cactus?!? I guess we've all heard that one before. Just the other night I had to explain that myth away. Although considered part of the lily family for some years, the agave plant is currently considered part of the asparagus family. And I couldn't agree more with Rastaman about only sipping tequila now, although that is actually a fairly new development for me. If I'm feeling vitamin C deficient I may throw in some lime juice, but I really just prefer it neat now. And it's so much easier to prepare! The sangrita is good for cleansing the palate between tastings, though. Shots...how sad.
