oh my lol. I almost just fell outa my chair laughing... "Shake vigorously" She shouldn't be so rough with the shaker next time.

In all serious, its a nice recipe. The use of a citrus press would go a long way in changing the overall quality of the finished product though. The key is to get every last drop of juice out of the fruit, and INCLUDE it in the tin while "shaking vigorously" to break the fruit down further and get all those wonderful oils out of the peel.

Good drink though

Microwaving whole citrus for about 20 seconds helps to release its essential oils; also be sure to cut out the bitter white pith before squeezing. If you want to use mixed citrus, I would cut the lemon down to 1/2 considering lemon has more flavor than lime. With the addition of the orange, the flavors can get quite confusing. In a margarita, you're looking for dominant lime notes. Darren is right about shaking it with the peel, but I would only include the lime peel for obvious reasons. Mint? Are you making a mojito? No thank you Cruz.

Or if you wanna get creative, take a flame to the orange peel and almost caramelize it, or put it on the grill for a second. Depending on how you do it, it can add some nice character to the drink.
The microwave touch is a nice trick.
