Learn how tequila is made — and how best to imbibe it — by visiting the Tequila Alquimia Web site and attending an upcoming tequila tasting in Oxnard.
Click it: The Web site http://www.tequilaalquimia.com includes photographs of the Jalisco, Mexico, ranch where Oxnard optometrist Dr. Adolfo Murillo grows and harvests organic blue agave for his label, Tequila Alquimia. You'll also find a list of area stores and restaurants that carry both the blanco and añejo grades of his tequila. Taste it: Tequila Alquimia will be among the brands poured during a tequila-and-appetizer tasting at 6:30 p.m. Friday at La Dolce Vita restaurant in Oxnard's Heritage Square. The menu will include salsa with tequila-soaked currants and gazpacho with tequila-pickled onion. For reservations, $30 per person, call 486-6878. The tequila event is the first of several food-and-drink gatherings offered as part of the inaugural Latino Heritage Month presented by the city of Oxnard. |

I've tried both the Blanco and the Anejo. They do not have a reposado. Anyone who was at SoM had the opportunity to taste them as well. They are both very good. Adolofo is actually a friend of mine. He has a great passion for his tequila and for the organic process. They are in the process of becoming the second brand to officially certify.
