Tequila El Mayor in Dallas...

Last Night Wednesday Sept. 26,2007 i had the privelege of meeting 3rd generation master distiller Rodolpho Gonzalez of Tequila El Mayor, at a Tequila Dinner held @ Matitto's here in Dallas, and let me tell you guys Mr. Gonzalez was a real down to earth guy, i enjoyed his company and of course his tequila, the local dist. of his tequila were all there, and we chatted the night away with a really good 3 course meal consisting of suffed chicken jalapenos paired with a Pomegranite Martini made with El Mayor Silver, followed by the main course Red Snapper paired with a Manago Margarita made withEl Mayor Reposado,and for dessert 3 leches cake paired with 2 oz. of El Mayor Anejo, this dinner was excellent and very, very reasonable, Rodolpho was awesome, they even had a slide presentation that was very well put together, congratulations to Mr. Gonzalez on such a great Tequila, he even told me he has a new Xtra Aged Tequila coming out hopefully by the end of the year. Shannon the rep from Luxco, gave me not only three bottles of their product but Mr. Gonzalez even signed the bottle for me, and gave me a t-shirt, and some really nice promotional pens, thet went above and beyond which i wasn't even expecting, i had a great time, and i wil post some pictures soon....

It's been a busy couple of weeks for me, with back to back tastings, and having the privelge of meeting alot of intresting people, meeting Rodolpho Gonzalez was awesome, and then today i had the privelge of meeting Carlos Camarena of Tequila El Tesoro, he even was gracoius enough to sign a bottle of the Anejo for me, and also filled me in on the new 70th Ann. Bottle arriving here in a couple of weeks, can't wait, we sampled the El Tesoro line, except for the El Paradiso, which was okay, because i had a drink of this @ lunch today (don't let my boss find out) it has truly been a great honor for me to meet these Master distillers, and now i can't wait to go to visit their distilleries...

Very nice, Carlos seems to be making the rounds and promoting El Tesoro. He is coming to Denver the first weekend of November.

Well, yeah they've been having tons of great tasting here lately, and the Store that we they had this tasting was awesome! they have a really good selection of tequila, and even have a glaas room featuring the more expensive tequilas, and they even have a 25 person glass tasting room, usually used for wine tastings, but after the El Tesoro tasting on Tuesday, they really were excited about hosting more tequila tastings, it's good for business, plus it would give us a host Store to hold our tastings, they general manager their was great, and very excited about hosting our tequila tastings there, I'm heading over there after work to take some snap shots of the place for the store section of this site. I'll post them over the weekend.
