For those at Tequila.net interested in joining us
2012 Tour Pricing In the past we have alternated between starting in the highlands and the lowlands each year. Many of our trip members have indicated that they prefer to start high and finish low. The trip dates will be March 4th through March l11th. Please plan on arriving in GDL no later than 4 PM on March 4th. Many people elect to come in one or two days earlier to visit local towns not visited on the tours. The first evening included in the tour price will be March 4th. Our last planned activity will take place on March 10th late in the evening. Return travel anytime on the 10th is recommended. When you see the price, please keep in mind the following: Like last year, I will not be adjusting the price for each and every person. The planning of the trip is difficult enough, Ray and I don't have the bandwidth to figure out and track what each person owes and has paid. This applies to transportation especially. If you are arriving on the trip late or leaving early, we can speak specifics in private regarding your situation. The total cost for one person this year is $900. This includes transportation for the week, lodging in the 7 nights lodging (3 Highlands, 3 Lowlands, Last Night in GDL), a Farewell dinner. This will also include keeping the bus stocked with non-alcoholic beverages and basic snacks, tour fee's, and and a few other miscellaneous costs. We have elected to go with a nicer bus company this year, since our driver is no longer with Ruza. Clayton has passed along some great contacts and we've elected to use one of them. Additionally, the hotels have increased their rates slightly. This does not include airfare or transportation from/to the airport. It also does not include meals per say. However, we visit two distilleries a day. Most of our great hosts provide some sort of food/beverage out of hospitality. Some distilleries still want us to visit but have been hit financially as well. We've still included these gracious people in our trip but have built a 'donation' to these places into the cost of the trip. In the past Depending on your eating patterns, your cost may vary. Andrew and I spend probably another $50 bucks on food. The total cost for a couple this year is $1300. We will continue to limit the size of the group to be under 30 (way under hopefully) This is for comfort on the bus as well as respect to the distilleries, and keeping everyone in the same hotels in each town. You can send a check directly to me, or you can pay through Paypal if you would like. IF you pay through Paypal and with a credit card, please add enough money to cover the charges or send as a gift. Acceptance is based on approval (don't worry, we have out list of no's and you probably aren't on the list . You do not have a spot until you have paid AND have received communications from Ray and/or myself indicating that you've been accepted. The amount is due in full by March 1st. At least 50% is due by January 15th. After February 1st, the amount is due in full. Additionally, a number of people have already been asking when they can place deposits. This trip will be filling up very quickly this year. Do not hesitate in placing your deposit, you may not get to go. This is not a typical tequila tour. This tour will provide you access directly to distillery owners and to distilleries that aren't typically accessible. They go to great lengths to welcome us to their properties. Timelines are firm and WILL be adhered to. We are often given the opportunity to purchase bottles not generally available to the market. As the planner, I am privy to information that distilleries would like to keep a secret, in an effort to surprise you all! We have pretty much filled our schedule but are always looking for recommendations/requests to visit new distilleries. New Rules IF you sit in the back of the bus - you WILL participate in the back of the bus activities. This includes the 'pours'. If you don't want to play, sit up front. Attire in hotels. In the past, we had a couple of people walking around the hotel (a very nice one at that) in bare feet and putting their feet on furniture that doubled as tables. This will NOT happen this year. Feet will NOT be on furniture and proper attire is required in public. I've always got at least 3-4 6 foot plus beasts on the tour that wouldn't mind helping you move your feet ![]() Please contact me directly for my address. My paypal address is droid00009@aol.com I look forward to seeing you all this year!!! |
