Tequila Toro de Lidia Blanco

Toro de Lidia Tequila was created for the "Fiesta Brava," the centuries-old Spanish bullfighting feast. Our Blanco is produced with 100% of the finest selection of Blue Agave, well trimmed of its pencas (or leaves) to avoid any bitterness, and we use spring water throughout the fermentation process. Toro de Lidia is oxygenated, chilled to 4 degree centigrade then filtered through activated carbon filters before bottling, which makes it one of the smoothest tequilas in the industry.

A Toro de Lidia is the thoroughbred of bulls used in bullfighting -- bulls with a natural instinct to attack. They are known for their valor and elegance, traits cultivated through centuries of controlled breeding. In the Middle Ages, knights would use spears and train with these toros as a form of medieval combat practice. Their servants, however, would fight them on foot -- a practice that would later evolve into bullfighting as we know it today.

Aroma: Agave and earth. A touch of alcohol to the nose as well.
Initial Taste: Full of earthy agave. Very good representation of a blanco.
Body: A very interesting combination. Lots of agave and spice. A hint of earth and citrus as well along with some anise.
Finish: Very smooth. No burn, but a nice peppery tingle.

A solid all around blanco. For $17.99 at Mission, you really can't beat the price. The entire line of Toro de Lidia there is a steal for the price. The bottles are classy as well. A great budget tequila.

Bought for 20 bucks at specs. Nose is largely acetone and some agave. Initial taste is very straight forward agave. Body is earthy agave, thin and smooth, slight citrus peel and menthol. Only the slightest, if neglegible alcohol burn. Finish is mostly agave and citrus peel, almost undetectable sweetness. I really enjoyed this tequila and it might have just become my go to blanco. Amamzing with grapefruit juice, orange juice and squirt. Bold enough not to get lost in the mix without being over bearing. It shoots amazingly well, even warm. Makes great margaritas. Bottle presesntation is modern and classic at the same time. A great representation of blanco tequila.
