Has anyone hollowed-out and frozen lime peels (shells) for serving tequila in?

I read a recipe calling you to squeeze out the lime juice and cut the pulp out and then placing the half shells in the freeer until frozen solid. Then serving tequila in the hollowed out limes halves.

Did this work for you, and did the tequila taste like lime when you did it? I think it would be interesting but I dont like my tequila with lime flavoring although the frozen peels shouldnt have too much effect on the tequila. Limes are pretty stout in general though.
