Default Marco Antonio Jauregui Huerta - Don Valente

Marco Antonio Jauregui Huerta Distillery
El Arenal, Jalisco, Mexico C.P. 45350

NOM 1450

Brands: Don Valente, Tiquilito-Uf

I was fortunate enough to visit with Marco and his Father at their distillery on my last visit to the Tequila region. They are a hands-on family, managing the entire process of their products, including farming, production, bottling-labeling, etc. After tasting their Tequilas it is obvious they are extremely passionate and focused on producing quality, premium products. Tasting the cooked agave directly after they opened the oven (after 48 hours of cooking and resting) was a real treat.

It is a smaller distillery.

I agree, the Licorera bottles are great, and something that Marco pointed out, if you take the bottle topper out and set it upside down next to the big bottle you'll notice that it is a mini replica. And the fact that you can take the last shot with you or give it away when the bottle is empty is truly unique.

How exciting! I hope to go to Tequila someday and do some of the tours. Everyone that goes always seems to learn quite a bit and try a bunch of different types and brands.

Not to take away from Darin's sight, cause I think he does an awesome job and has presented alot of freshness to online tequila forums ..... over at the Ian Chadwick site, we attempt to put together an annual tour. This is where I (Wichie as well) have garnered much of distillery experiences You guys are more than welcome to come over there and chat (as long as you still post here too) and potentially join us on an upcoming tour.

Im hoping to find Don Valente Anejo or Reposado at Specs in Austin when I head down for my camping trip in South Texas on the 18-21st. They have always been on my list of tequilas to try but nobody in my town carries that brand...I have only heard wonderful things and after re-reading this post I am excited to try the brand even more.

Hehe, its funny that I am a rep for Don Valente now, obviously I like it a bunch! Its a very good product indeed. That camping trip down south was a blast too. Uvalde County in south Texas is about as isolated from population as it gets. And they have a wonderful river (Frio River at Garner State Park) that is perfect for spending the afternoon floating and sipping margaritas.
