Default Flavored agave nectar

I haven't seen this mentioned here before, but has anyone else tried any of the flavored agave nectars for your margs? I just discovered that there are different flavors out there, vanilla, caramel, berry, etc... I was at a tequila bar this weekend and they had the vanilla agave nectar and they experimented with one of their margs and used that instead of a vanilla liqueur and it turned out pretty tasty. I had no idea the nectars came in flavors now, so just wondering if any of you out there have played with them?

Sounds interesting for different margaritas, but I haven't tried any yet - nor seen any for that matter.

Madhava is one brand that carries flavored Agave nectar. I believe that there are other brands as well. I have tasted the Amaretto which I use to add a little sweetness to an occasional Mai Tai, and Raspberry which I have used in some agave cocktails. They also carry Maple, Blueberry, Hazelnut, Vanilla, and Irish Creme. IMO...the one's that I sampled are of high quality and would recommend experimenting with mixing, cooking and baking.

I agree. I was quite impressed with the vanilla agave I tried this weekend. It added a non-chemical taste with a dash more of agave to the marg and seemed to give a nice enhancement to the drink rather than a distraction. I just wish I had written down the name of the brand. Guess I'll have to go back! :-)
