Default El Conde Azul

I am trying to find a tequilla called El Conde Azul. Comes in very attractive glass bottles, and my wife really, really likes it. We live in Scottsdale, Arizona, so Phoenix is next to us, but I have been unable to find it anywhere. Can anyone give me a source for several bottles of the Reposado and several bottles of the Anejo? I am sure I can ship it in from California, but if I can find it locally without all that hassle, expense, and risk, I would prefer it. She seems to like the aroma and flavor, and we both like the look of the bottles.

As an aside, if any of you are experts on Tequila, and I am sure you are, if you have another suggestion that is at all like the flavor of El Conde Azul, I would appreciate knowing about it.

Regards, REISMAN

We are all spread out geographically on this forum, so there may not be an Arizona person on here. If you haven't already done so, I would recommend calling as many local liquor stores as you can, and ask them if they carry it. They should easily be able to look it up on their computers.

And although you might not want to hassle with the shipping costs from Cali, it may end up being your only choice. Many of us will go to great lengths to have something special shipped to us, so I guess it just depends on how badly you (or your wife) want the Conde Azul.

If you can find Casa Noble locally, I think I speak for everyone on the forum in saying you should definitely try it. Start with the repo, then move on to the others. It sets the standard. Also, avoid Cuervo products and Patron. Cuervo is crap, and Patron is highly overrated.

Normans Liquors in Sarasota, Fl has a couple of bottles. I dont live there but I saw some on a recent trip down there to see family. If you have no luck finding it we can try and work something out to get you a bottle. I thought they only had blancos and repos but I could be wrong.

You may want to try SINO Tequila... it is from the same distillery and it will set you back a few $$$ less. You can always use your El CA bottle as a decanter.

I assume (hope) you are not referring to the Cuervo DLF products? I just had a friend grab two bottles of Platino for me at a closeout price of $32 each in PA, haven't actually had it yet but at that price I took the plunge.

IMO, the JC Platino is fairly decent juice...especially at that $32 price tag. I usually see this stuff way overpriced at anywhere between $49 to $59. I have a couple of bottles that were given to me as gifts. Taste wise, I would probably compare it to a higher priced version of JC's Tradiccional? Let us know your thoughts when you give it a try!

I wonder if that Norman's Liquors in Sarasota is run by the same owners as the one on St. Pete Beach? They have a large inventory of spirits. Over the years I have done tons of business with them...probably a little too much!
