Default Why is Tezon tequila cheap now?

I saw Tezon Blanco & Reposado on sale in my local liquor store for $19.99 each. A couple months ago, this tequila was priced in the high 40's. What changed? I heard it tastes better than the new Espolon at the same cheap price.

I have been out of the tequila game for a little while (more involved in the craft beer scene recently), but I don't know if I can pass up Tezon at that price. I just want to know if its quality or not.

Most likely they went out of business and are trying to get rid of old inventory fast. But then again maybe another company bought the name and is producing a lesser tequila for a lesser price.

I believe there was a change, at least that's what I gathered from their website. A few weeks ago, Lippy posted on facebook about a great deal on the repo at a Shop-Rite in NJ. I grabbed 6 bottles, at $15, it was a no brainer. I can't remember how good the blanco was, but the repo is definitely better than the new Espolon. I would stock up, if I could get it locally for $20.

I personally enjoy all of Tezon's offerings. IMHO the blanco is a little on the light side with moderate agave intensity, however the repo is the best of the bunch with nice soft oak and a pleasant finish. I have seen all three flavors of this juice priced anywhere from the mid to high $40 mark for the blanco up to the mid to high $60's for the anejo. I agree with gsars1....grab a bunch while supplies last for $20!

Still never seen it below 60's here! I thought it was very good juice. The blanco was almost identical to Gran Patron. Añejo good, repo better. Buy up gents.

They tasted good. Got the Repo and Blanco. Smooth yet flavorful. Better than the new Espolon at the same price by far. I wonder if the quality will go down in future months (if new juice replaces the current juice).
