Default Espolon Reposado

A few weeks back I tried Espolon blanco because I found it on sale for $15. I really liked it! I was wondering what you guys think of Espolon repo. Is it as good as the blanco? JT

"as good as" is always relative.
I personally dont care much for blancos, so I think the repo is better.
But generally speaking, the repo is a great product. We easily drink it straight. And because of it being $20 or less in most places, its perfect for drinks as well.

IMHO....Espo Repo is an excellent, way above average 'budget sipper!' It is a very easy to sip and......do I dare say that "smooth" word?? Not manipulated in any way...still has nice full flavor agave with just the right blend of oak, cinnamon and very light vanilla. I can remember a time when the cool looking, older metallic label bottles used to range anywhere from $45 to +$55.00! Kudos to NOM 1440 for lowering the cost to the consumer....especially in these tough economic times! The retail on the new skeleton bottles are listed @$24.99, however I rarely see them priced any higher than $19.99 here in my neck of the woods. So that being said, if you can pick up a bottle or two at that $15.00 price, I would jump on that in a heartbeat! Just my .02 cents on your question. I hope it helps.

I enjoy both, but I am a repo fan as well so that one gets more use from me. It's listed as discontnued in Oregon thru the state which I hope isn't the case..

One thing that I cannot understand is how the repo is priced the same as the blanco. The repo involves more cost. I am perplexed.

Recently it was on sale locally for $12.99!!! Both offerings.

Default espolon

quintosol

in short, costs do not determine prices. supply and demand do. when they price it, they consider what price will give them the highest profit, not the production cost.

as for the espolon, i thought it was fantastic when i paid 20 for it. 13 is outrageous. and to the original poster, i liked the repo much more than the blanco. definitely worth it.

AND I was tempted to buy a couple of each. Alas, I am not a fan of any of the iterations... so I ended up passing.
