Default Old Jose Cuervo Bottle? Is it still safe?

Sooo I was looking around in the pantry and I saw this bottle of Jose Cuervo Tequila, can anyone tell me if it's still safe to drink? It's still sealed but I can tell that some of it has evaporated already, about 1/6th of the bottle is empty. I can smell the oh-so-sweet smell of Cuervo when I sniff the cap. BUT, there are sediments floating about in the tequila (cork)? And the bottle looks a bit different per se. Can anyone tell me if I can still drink this? It must have been in there for years.

I'm sure it's still safe to drink, but yes, those are likely cork particles, so you would want to strain it through cheesecloth, a coffee filter, or even a paper towel. 1800 uses synthetic corks now. Unfortunately, the bottle doesn't say "100% blue agave" tequila anywhere on it, so it's probably nothing special. I believe most, if not all, 1800 produced now is 100% blue agave. Regular Jose Cuervo is not, though.

I perfectly understand your question... BUT why include a picture of the bottom of the bottle? Hmmm... methinks you're looking for a buyer... if not drink away; it should be safe.

I'd pour a shot and taste it. Bear in mind that 1800 reposado doesn't taste all that great brand new. I used to drink it when I was younger, and it just seemed to be a slightly smoother version of JC Gold. JT

@jdjohn84: Haha, it's fine if it's not that special lol. But thanks for the advice
@QuintoSol: Nope, not selling it. I'm gonna serve it to my friends on my birthday, so yeah, haha. And besides, that's not the bottom of the bottle, it's the cap (or whatever you call it) lol

Thanks for the replies, everyone!
