Default Strongest Agave Taste

Ok guys, (and gals), I need to nail down the agave flavor when enjoying different tequila's. It seems that a blanco is going to have the strongest agave taste to it, so I guess one of them would be the way to do this. How about some suggestions on what to get in order to definitely recognize and learn the agave taste. You guys have brought me a long way, it's time for me to move up a level here, don't let me down now!

I agree with all of Wichie's selections, and would also recommend the following, in order from least expensive:

Fina Estampa
Hacienda de Oro
Sol Azul
Don Fulano
4 Copas

casa noble all the way, but then again 4 copas is definitely another way to go, with it being all natural you'll probably get a really good idea of the natural agave taste. fina estampa has a really good taste for the price, but let me throw a curve ball your way, don julio silver, pretty good agave taste also.

No one mentioned Penca Azul? I think the agave taste is SO apparent in this line.

Oh, and I agree on the Don Julio blanco call as well.

My latest breakdown of excellent agave body:
El Tesoro
Los Abuelos
Penca Azul
Chinaco
Don Valente
Don Julio
Siete Leguas

All have awesome agave flavor to me..

Ok, having never had the oportunity to taste baked agave, is this what we are talking about here? I have always felt like I am disavantaged in that I have never tasted it as many others here have. So, for those who have, is the taste of baked agave close to what you would call the "true agave flavor" of tequila? I have read many decribe the tastes and or smells associated with baked agave, but just how closely does it remind you of what you taste in a blanco. For me, until I can get more experience, I have based my standard on a combination of ETWLS, CNB, and Fortaleza, for what I think of as closest to a true agave flavor. I think these put me close to true agave taste home base, but I still won't know until I taste baked agave or aguamiel juice from a vat. That day can't come soon enough for me. Also I think Fina Estampa blanco to be very close. Haven't tried the 1921 yet but have heard is very close as well.

I've never had natural agave, by itself...so I can see where you are coming from. But I have picked out the natural essence in tequila that gives it the flavor we all love...

The best blancos I have found with strong agave are....

Don Valente
Don Augustin
Don Julio
Fina Estampa
Jose Cuervo RDLF Platino
Casa Noble

Some other notables are...Don Eduardo, Don Augustin, and Chinaco

I found that Arroyo Negro Blanco had a very strong agave flavor, that is the first bottle I bought when I started collecting Tequila. Salud!!!
