Default Karma Tequila

I just met the co-founder of Karma Tequila and sampled the silver. Does anyone else have an opinion on this tequila? I thought it was smooth with a lot of citrus notes and a touch of pineapple and apple in the finish. Might be a little on the pricey side.

I think that this tequila will do good with the masses. I tasted it at the Spirits of Mexico last year (2009), and found it to be very modern in its flavor profile, as in uberly (and unnaturally) sweet. Not my style of tequila at all, but I think it will do good for those who want a tequila that doesn't taste like tequila. How pricey is it Seth?

I didn't find it overly sweet, but I will agree that it's for the masses. After talking to the co-founder (who is very nice) I got the impression that Karma is going after the Patron market. They are big in California and Las Vegas, which is the crowd they are targeting. I've seen it for $37.99. That's a fair price in terms of the wholesale cost, but I would like to see it under $30. I think we will be around $31.99. They are also only releasing a silver, which never made sense to me. I think if you are going to hit the market, it should be with all three styles. You lose a potential sale if someone is looking for a reposado or anejo. Only time will tell.

I tried it last spring and thought it was decent. I thought they had distribution in CO but I haven't seen it around yet...

I concure with 45 and Mr. A. At $31 I would maybe buy it for margs or to give to newb's

Definitely a good entry level tequila. I don’t see Karma Tequila being on the “Tequila Top Ten” list, but nice packaging and worth a try. They got some PR in the works and was told it will be on a few tv shows.
