Yes. Put it in the freezer... if it freezes, it was watered down...

MNSHO is that it is not worth tampering with a bottle of Patron... it's not ike it's worth in the hundreds of $$$$... I am willing to bet is the original juice...

I agree with you. It is definitely not worth it to someone like me or you, but if someone was hurting for some cash, I could see it happening.

Everyone I've talked to says Patron Silver is sold with a plastic seal. He still cannot explain why the plastic seal is missing from this bottle. Something seems real fishy...

I was just browsing on ebay and found an another example of what kind of shady stuff goes on with certain sellers. For example the seller "rchaptini" is selling a 750ml. bottle of "EXTREMELY RARE" Don Sergio Anejo Tequila for the low, low price of $139.00 plus $13.95 shipping. What a bunch of crap! I can find over 20 bottles of this "rare" juice on the shelf of a local retail store for $26.00 out the door! It never ceases to amaze me how these guys get away with this type of deception. Sadly, someone out there will actually get scammed. BUYER BEWARE!
OBTW, I happen to have all three flavors of this juice at my bar and IMHO, even $26.00 is a bit pricey for the overall quality of the anejo.

Thanks for "naming names" of the scammers. It's good to know what you're in for when spending lots of $ on Ebay and we need all the help we can get. Quick story: Years ago I frquented a liquor store in North Chicago, IL that had probably 200 labels available. I saw that they had a bottle of Porfidio Single Barrel out on the shelf with everything else (instead of one of several locked end cases). One trip to the store I noticed the paper that sealed the cork was ripped. Someone probably wanted a swig before they dropped $100 on it...LOL. Anyway, the next time I went into the store that same bottle had a new shrink-wrapped seal over the ripped paper. Even store owners are sneaky!

Could you be a little more specific as to what went wrong? If you want PM me but I am interested in knowing as I've been buying bottles on ebay and have noticed this seller before but not been interested in any of their stuff yet. So far my only issue was winning a bottle only to be told it broke in preparation to ship. It sold a few months later but then it was posted as "Mainland US only" on the shipping

Hmm, I had wondered where he/she had gone to. I bought a couple of bottles of Ancestra from her/him a couple of months ago and had no problems. I am convinced though, based mostly on shipping location and the listing format on eBay that tequilasal10 is actually seeemonkey, who was in the Chicago area and vanished from eBay about 4-5 months ago.

Another seller to watch for is xolmarket who currently has nothing listed but in feedback has been accused of refilling Casa Noble bottles, though I am not sure with the very distinctive flavor profile how he/she thought that would fly.

I won a bottle of Centenario Plata for the low,low price of $20 from this seller and after about 2 weeks asked where the bottle was, to be told a couple of days later that FedEx had destroyed it. I got a full refund but watched for a while to see if it was put back up for sale. Funny thing is I had done business with this individual 4 or 5 times prior to that and had never questioned the result when I received it.

*****BEWARE*****

Some of you may have noticed I recently had some empty bottles for sale on ebay, when I do this I tend to mark them EMPTY with an engraver on the bottom so as they don't show up "FULL & FACTORY SEALED" back on ebay. I checked this morning to see if anything interesting had been posted up for bid and to my surprise I find this bottle that I just sold 2 weeks ago.
This is the bottle I sold.
DON JULIO 1942 TEQUILA BOTTLE WITH COLECTORS BOX - eBay (item 300503793312 end time Dec-16-10 15:00:47 PST)
Notice the markings & the tear on the label.

Here is the " Don Julio 1942 Tequila Anejo New Sealed Box"
Don Julio 1942 Tequila Anejo New Sealed Box Gran Patron - eBay (item 320637614273 end time Jan-06-11 21:01:10 PST)

Either I am living in the future where I buy this full/sealed bottle from this person today, drink it and then go to the past to sale it empty?
What do think?

It would be nice if ebay had the ability to post comments so some of the less honest sellers could be flagged. I feel sorry because you know someone is going to buy that bottle expecting the real juice.
