Default Senor Frogs Plata (100% Agave)

I was at a liquor store in town picking up some Las Trancas for this weekend and was paying at the counter when I saw a lonely single bottle of tequila sitting next to the register called Senor Frogs Plata for only 19.99. The bottle said it was 100% agave and from a NOM unheard of to me...1502. I decided I would grab it because it would at least make an alright margarita and I'm all about trying new stuff.

I only took a sip tonight and saving it for the weekend. From the aromas I grasped a moderate amount of agave, very clean, slight floral aromas and to my excitement...a well balanced alcohol aroma. The taste was about the same, light bodied, pure, somewhat earthy. The aftertaste didn't linger long and I felt little to no burn. I cannot say much describing it from a 1.5oz taste but these were my initial thoughts.

It will be fun to drink again. I have to say I was a bit skeptical with the name being Senor Frogs and knowing nothing about NOM 1502 but I enjoyed it very much and think it will be a promising addition to my newly started tequila bar (after the baby was born I wasnt able to buy much so I drank pretty much all I had)

Has anyone else had a chance to try anything from 1502 or the Senor Frogs lineup?

I bought the Tierras Anejo last weekend for a reasonable $50.
Good agave scent, more subtle on the taste with an oak flavored body and ends with a dry peppery finish

All who tried it, enjoyed it

I agree with you that it is actually quite good. The repo is my personal favorite.

Actually the 1502 NOM is for La Autentica Tequilera and belongs to the latest generation of the Orendain family. Good traditional distillery with a "boutique" feel.

By the way the Señor Frog´s Tequila website and it's working, although it seems like it has been uploaded recently.

Cheers...

So I pulled up the Señor Frog's web site and it says "You must be 21 to enter this site". Normally I would hit Enter, but the Exit button peaked my curiosity. Check it out, I don't want to spoil it for you. Be patient, it takes a second or two...

That just re-enforces my belief of the blessedness of tequila.

Both the Plata and Reposado have been added: review at will.
