METL 2012 Tequila Anejo

METL 2012 Tequila Anejo - Reserva Especial - 100% Blue Agave, Elevation: 5200 feet above sea level. METL 2012 Anejo is our premier Tequila from the lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Triple distilled and aged 26 months in new American Oak barrels, this exquisite Tequila has a floral, woody flavor with a spicy vanilla aftertaste. Best enjoyed as a sipping Tequila.

METL 2012 Reserva Especial Tequilas are produced in the town of Arenal. This area is known for it fabulous Agave producing soil and is the heart of the Tequila growing region. Our special reserve Tequilas are made with only the finest, estate grown Blue Agave available, and are hand processed with age-old traditional methods.

Bought 3/15/10, paid $38 online. Bottle is trendy, dark with a cork top. Sampled in a 6 oz shot glass, color is light straw, no legs, slight tears after a time. Light nose, semi sweet and agave/alcohol. Has a thin feel in the mouth and a medicinal taste on the tongue. Body is bland, no complexities that you would expect, a decent heated finish that lingers, leaves an oak/burnt almond taste with a slight alcohol numbing. I'm left unimpressed, nothing I would look forward to the next time. For the $ there are much better anejo's out there, I would not buy again.
