In addition to owning Rittenhouse high-end Mexican dining room Tequilas, David Suro-Piñera is a tequila expert and the founder of liquor company Siembra Azul. This month, Siembra Azul is adding two new tequilas to its lineup, and both are extra Añejo (aka aged longer than usual - and "extra tasty," in our own, tequila-loving opinion).
Tarantula Plata and Tarantula Reposado now 100 proof and made with 100 percent blue agave
The top 100….100 percent. Tarantula Tequila proved that 100 is better with the recent launch of their newly developed 100 proof and 100 percent pure agave tequilas. Tarantula Tequila joined the fiesta on Cinco de Mayo, when they introduced their Reposado 100 and Plata 100 throughout the USA.
"The new Tarantula 100 series offers consumers the quality of 100 percent blue agave with the strength of 100 proof, for a taste sensation that offers more character and body, and is unexpectedly smooth for 100 proof," said Vic Morrison, Vice President of Marketing at McCormick Distilling, distributors of Tarantula Tequila. "We wanted to offer tequila lovers an exceptional liquid at an accessible price point and we're proud that we've achieved this with the Tarantula 100 series."
Ignited by the challenge of releasing a ‘best of class’ tequila at the highest proof allowed by law (110 proof), Carlos Camarena, the iconic distiller of Mexico’s 75-year-old Tequila Tapatio brand has launched a 110-proof Tequila full of fresh agave flavors and uncommonly smooth.
Why a higher proof? Tequila consists of water, alcohol and flavors: reduce the water and you’ve increased the alcohol and flavors. “The more intense flavors mean even better cocktails,” explains Marko Karakasevic, Master Distiller of Charbay Distillers (Tapatio’s U.S. importer). “Tapatio’s 110-Proof Blanco has huge florals and spicy cinnamon, plus chamomile and rich agave.”
Coleccion de la Casa, Reserva 2012- Port Cask Finish is First of its Kind in a Series of Unique Styles of Tequila
Tequila Herradura announces the release of the first of a series of small-batch tequilas, Coleccion de la Casa, Reserva 2012, Port Cask Finish. Each year, a new tequila will be released that will offer consumers a one-of-a-kind experience. The inaugural product, Coleccion de la Casa, Reserva 2012 is a port cask finished reposado tequila that acquires its complex body and extraordinary smooth taste from resting in two different types of oak casks.
