Maestro Dobel Worlds First Diamond Tequila

Juan-Domingo Beckmann Introduces a Hand-Crafted Blend of Reposado, Anejo and Extra-Anejo tequilas with the Clarity, Complexity, Crispness and Craftsmanship of a Diamond

(TEQUILA.net) Juan-Domingo “Dobel” Beckmann, the sixth-generation leader of the world’s most prominent tequila-producing family, today announces the introduction of Maestro Dobel, the first-ever diamond tequila.  Unlike any other aged tequila, Maestro Dobel is a diamond-clear spirit – a result of a proprietary blending and filtration technique.

Juan Dobel first imagined this unique tequila brand that bears his name while working with his family’s distilling Maestros.  Beckmann personally raised the finances for his vision in order to bring this silver tequila concept to market as a completely separate business entity.

“I have long desired to create an aged spirit that is the liquid embodiment of my passion for tequila,” said Beckmann.  “Maestro Dobel represents six generations of my family’s dedication to crafting the finest tequilas available.  Yet, it also signals a renaissance – a new way of thinking about and enjoying tequila. ”

Standing alone in the category, Maestro Dobel is a luxurious silver tequila with the complexity of an aged spirit.  This exceptional blend of three tequilas can be judged, like a diamond, by four C’s:

Clarity:  The proprietary filtering system used by Maestro Dobel gently expels congeners and colors from the tequila, producing the “Diamond Clarity” without having an affect on aroma, flavor or complexity.

Complexity:  The incredible complexity of Maestro Dobel stems from the incredible array of differently aged tequilas in the blend: Reposado (rested 15 months), Anejo (rested 24 months), and Extra-Anejo (rested for 36 months).

Crispness:  The agave selected for Maestro Dobel grows in the volcanic lowlands of the Jalisco region, producing a tequila with lighter herbal and citrus aromas.  This hand-selected agave, combined with the tequila’s double distillation in post stills creates an exceptionally crisp tequila.

Craftsmanship:  Juan Dobel has entrusted the Tequila Maestros – Marco Anguiano and Luis Yerenas – to create the special blend for Dobel.  Every step of the process is crafted by hand – from the harvesting of the agave to the blending of the tequilas.

Ideally balanced by clarity, complexity, crispness and craftsmanship, Maestro Dobel boasts a full-bodied palate, with bold notes of smoked wood and dried fruits.  These flavors are carefully balanced by a light nutmeg spiciness and a sweet honey finish.

Juan-Dobel’s dedication to providing the finest hand-crafted tequila extends to Maestro Dobel’s meticulous packaging.  Each imposing bottle is built on a thick metallic base and is emblazoned with a unique crystal-cut design.  Each bottle is filled and labeled by hand and then individually numbered.   Unique for tequila, Dobel recognizes the ranch from which the 8-10 year-old agave was harvested.

Due to extremely limited quantities, Maestro Dobel will be available in August 2008 at the finest evening establishments in Los Angeles, Chicago, Milwaukee and Atlanta as well as online where legal.  Dobel is 40% Alc./Vol. and has a suggested retail price of $74.99.

Ocho Tequila is the Magic Number for Inspirit Brands

Submitted by Tequila.net     August 06, 2008     14666   0

(TEQUILA.net) Inspirit Brands is delighted to announce the arrival of Ocho: an estate-grown, 100% Blue Agave Tequila range produced as a collaboration between by Tequila aficionado Tomas Estes and renowned distillers, the Camarena family - and the first brand ever to bear a ‘Tequila vintage’.

As interest in the category continues to gather pace, Ocho is set to be one of the most exciting Tequila releases to date – not least for the association with Estes, official Tequila Ambassador to the European Union and founder of the Café Pacifico group of bar-restaurants.

Not unlike the labelling of fine wines, Ocho’s ‘Tequila vintage’ signifies the exact year or harvest and location of the Agave plants that the spirit was derived from, underlining the finely balanced relationship between the terroir and quality of raw materials.

Ocho Blanco can be traced back to Rancho La Rivera, where the soil is similar to that of the Tequila valley, while for the Reposado, the agave has been harvested from the typically rich brown soil of the Los Altos region of Jalisco -from Rancho El Vergel.

The idea of a ‘Tequila vintage’ may be new and unique to the category, but the small- batch production methods are age old and artisanal.  Ocho Tequila is 100% natural, crafted slowly and with care.

The Ocho brand offers a guarantee of heritage, quality and value. The Blanco and Reposado will be available in 50cl bottles, and will appeal to bars and restaurants looking to offer customers the flavour of traditional and authentic Tequila, backed up by contemporary packaging that handles and pours with ease and comfort.

This is a Tequila range that has a unique story to tell. Not only does the brand name represent the 8th, and final, attempt at the ultimate recipe, the producers themselves are in their 8th decade of Tequila production and 8 years is the average age at which Ocho’s Agave is harvested.

While the Blanco is un-aged, giving a ripe and citrusy flavour, Ocho’s Reposado has been rested for precisely 8 weeks and 8 days for the unparalleled smoothness and complexity which mark a truly great sipping Tequila.

In a further similarity to fine wine, Ocho Tequila has been found to develop in the glass; releasing subtle nuances of nose and flavour that entice the drinker to keep coming back to experience more and more with every sip.

Tomas Estes comments: “I have been serving Tequila and Tequila drinks since 1976 in 5 European countries and Australia. Tequila Muestro Numero Ocho [recipe number eight] is both rewarding and satisfying when sipped and savoured straight as well as in a mixed drink or cocktail such as a Margarita.’

The bad news for Tequila lovers?  There are a few trade secrets to the final recipe that we can’t reveal and we’ll all have to wait a little longer for the Anejo which began the ageing process in June 2007…so watch this space.

Ocho Blanco and Ocho Reposado are available now, only at www.anybooze.com, www.thedrinkshop.com (free-phone 0800-169-6760) and at selected bars UK wide including Gilgamesh, Bungalow 8, Café Pacifico and Green and Red.

Mejor Tequila Company Brings Modern Luxury to Tequila

Submitted by Tequila.net     April 18, 2008     15258   0

Los Altos, CA (TEQUILA.net) - The Mejor™ Tequila Company, LLC (MTC) introduces a luxury line of upscale tequilas, crafted to deliver unsurpassed quality and sophistication. We are pleased to report that this excitement has created a buzz in the fine spirits industry and with luxury spirit connoisseurs alike. We invite you to experience Mejor™ tequila and take the ultimate step into modern luxury.

Mejor™ is a new luxury tequila, but the founders of MTC have a mature understanding and long association with tequila.  In fact, the art of cultivating premium quality (weber) blue agave has been in the family since the mid 1900’s, and it is with great pride that Mejor introduces its super premium lines of tequilas using its own family estate blue agave. The family estate fields of Mejor are located in the los Altos de Jalisco region- known for the rich red soils and tame arid microclimate consistently yielding the best crops of tall majestic blue agave.

Mejor distinguishes itself by focusing on top quality micro-batch production, providing enough time to meticulously distill and uncover a wonderfully smooth, rich taste and complex character of a true super premium tequila. Other “premium” brands can’t deliver this level of sophistication, as their goal is mass production.

Building a great brand requires the assembly of talented people.  Mejor’s team includes master distiller Igr. Marco Cedano Nuñez, who perfected his talents making world famous Don JulioTM tequilas.  In joining Mejor, Igr. Cedano Nuñez was challenged to continue to perfect his art, and to produce the smoothest tequila yet, starting with his personal hand-selection of the best mature agave from Mejor's estate lands.

Mejor’s Blanco tequila is as pure and fresh as it gets.  Mejor’s Blanco tequila, with its naturally smooth taste is perfect for sipping, shots, or mixing with traditional fruit blends.  Traditional margaritas with Mejor Blanco will taste clean, fresh and crisp.

In Mejor’s Reposado tequila, the extra time in the barrel helps bring out a mellow caramel taste, with touches of citrus, making the tequila perfect for sipping, mixing with sparking water and lime, or being showcased in sophisticated cocktails.

Mejor’s Añejo tequila has darker rich tones from the extra barrel time, and exudes tame aromas of vanilla, chocolate, and caramel, which are sure to please even the most discriminating connoisseurs of fine spirits.  Mejor’s Añejo is perfect for enjoying in any form, but its complexities can be best savored neat to allow full enjoyment of the bouquet of flavors and clean yet complex aromatics.

Mejor will also launch Mejor™ Pink tequila, which is Mejor’s 100% blue agave Blanco tequila accented with a fresh natural fruit flavoring.  Pink aims to please non-traditional tequila drinkers.  Pink is designed to blend Mejor's luxury tequila into the cocktail culture.  Presented in a very contemporary, attractive, and distinctive package, Pink is sure to be an attention grabber. As a compelling accessory to Mejor's suite of luxury tequilas, Pink  is fashioned to allow for tequila enjoyment by the most discriminating of tastes.

Tequila has been identified as one of the fastest growing spirits in the world, and yet, traditional tequila companies generally fail to satisfy more sophisticated pallets- leaving a void for those who appreciate substance, style, design, and who demand unsurpassed quality. Mejor tequilas fill this void, as Mejor has developed its tequila as a luxury spirit that people will notice, appreciate, and demand.  Mejor is ready to make a splash, redefine the tequila industry and serve those seeking a truly exceptional experience.

Mejor™ is a licensed California Importer and Wholesaler.  Our tequilas will be available mid summer 2008.  Contact Mejor Tequila Company for specials during the pre-release sale.
