Tasted out of double ball glass. Purchased bottle for $19.99. Budget week rolls on. This anejo is pretty darn decent for UNDER twenty bux. Yet another solid 'B+' tequila in my book. Sol Azul has done a very good job!

Aroma: The nose was a 'soft' nose of vanilla.
Initial Taste: An oily mouth feel. Upon entry it was sweet with no bitterness. First flavor I tasted was of caramel.
Body: A very present and somewhat complex body of agave, cinnamon, and pepper, with a lighter hint of citrus.
Finish: A long heated finish with a lingering spicy finish.

Yet another lesson: Never judge a tequila by its price!

Tasted in a caballito on April 11, 2008 showing thick lasting legs on the glass.

Sol Azul Anejo

Color: light golden hue
Aroma: vanilla
Taste: carmel apple sprinkled with cayenne pepper. medium to heavy body with a very long lasting smooth burn numbing the entire mouth. a bite that I would expect from a Reposado more than an Anejo

The Sol Azul Anejo bottle with it's cork and glass stopper is a nice touch. For the price and quality (even with the bite) Sol Azul Anejo is one of my three favorite anejo at the time of this writing along with Casa Noble & Don Julio 1942.
