My experience with tequila began with Cab Wabo. Cabo Reposado is my go-to drink. Since then I've tried numerous others (all high-end) and THIS one has been the most pleasant surprise I've had in a long time. My first Blanco was Partida, and for a blanco it was good. I ended up aging the second half of that in an oak cask and the result was amazing (but that's another story!) So when my friend showed up with this bottle I was excited. It has a very mellow nose, and the taste was smooooth with a very mellow finish. I think we sampled 7 shots of this baby that night! I love the bottle, and like the little medallion around the neck of each. Now I'm on my second bottle, and looking forward to trying their anejo! I just paid $47 for the second bottle. Not too bad, but when I can buy Cabo for $28, it's a little harder to open my wallet for the Partida. Definately going to keep a bottle of this on hand though!

Hmm, I really wanted to be impressed with this reposado, but I wasn't. Then again, their blanco wasn't my favorite either. I did taste 'chemicals' or additives' in the tequila. Not a turn on for me.

Aroma: Not a good aroma for me. The nose was sour for me. That's the only word I can use to describe it.
Initial Taste: On the tip of tongue, it was bitter that turned to sweet. An oily mouth feel.
Body: Much better than the initial taste. A sweet agave flavor, with nice hints of agave, citrus, and earth.
Finish: Boo on the finish. A long heated finish with an unwelcome alcohol taste/burn.

All in all, not a reposado that I like. Then again, it's rare that I find a reposado that I do like. Right now, I'd say a reposado that I like would be El Tesoro, or Fina Estampa. I realize that taste buds are a very unique thing from individual to individual. So this is nothing more than my humble opinion.

On this date I tried this tequila at Grad Tequila Bar using a snifter. This tequila is a pale yellow golden color and has an intense aroma of floral and fruit with mild earth and spice. There are also hints of vanilla. A mellow taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a sweet sensation with a slight bitterness. The Reposado flavor contains intense agave and floral flavors with moderate earth and fruit. The tequila also has mild intensities of spice followed by a hint wood. Partida Reposado finishes with a medium to long duration of flavor and a tingly, numbing alcohol feeling. This tequila has been awarded the overall rating of 88/89 points out of 100.

The golden color in the shapely bottle speaks of "smooth". Not far off. The nose is not too complex, hints of fruit and cinnamon and mildly smoky-sweet. Clings nicely to the sides of the glass. Initial taste is light and airy, not expected of a reposado. Clings to the palate and finishes smooth with a slight smoky/woody finish. Overall easy to drink and enjoyable, not intimidating. Our draconian state taxes inflates the price unnecessarily, my only complaint.
