On opening this bottle you receive a delightful aroma of roasted almonds, fresh cut flowers, caramel, and butterscotch. There is also a nice backing of oak.
With the first sip you will notice a very sweet oily entrance. I felt that the sweetness gave me a cold tingling sensation, which is very refreshing in the hot summer months.
The light to medium body is mildly complex with a slight taste of iodine and minimal alcohol numbing. There is a good base of oak over roasted nuts and vanilla. The agave taste is not over powered by the wood, and you can find in the sweetness a touch of tropical fruit.
I personally enjoy the stronger wood characteristics of this tequila, but it's not for everyone. It leaves a nice long finish of agave and wood blended in harmony together.

And this is coming from someone who likes his tequila typically unaged or just slightly rested.

The color of this anejo is dark amber with slight red hues. The initial taste is full of fruity notes from the wood and the agave stands strong. This anejo should be treasured by any standard. There should be no mention to alcohol as the tingling throat does not exist in the finish of this product. Overall this is my favorite aged tequila to try to this date. I feel quite unqualified to give this review because of this. SAVE THIS FOR YOURSELF!
