Don Jose Lopez Portillo Tequila Anejo

For value tequilas, Muchote is often touted as a "best bang for the buck" juice. In my opinion, the JLP line is right up there with it. For $20 and under, you can buy any of the ages. There's not a better deal than that out there.

Aroma: Nice aged nose full of agave, caramel and oak.
Initial Taste: Sweet vanilla and agave with a bit of spice.
Body: Nice thick body full of caramel, ripe fruit and wood.
Finish: Medium finish with a nice sweetness and agave pepper linger.

This has everything you'd want from an anejo, but at less than half the price of a lot of them. If you can find it, do yourself a favor and buy this brand. It may just become your new value sipper.

I was shopping for a new tequila when asking for light on some new items the brand was presented to me as an upcoming very popular new consumer item. When looking at price and seeing it was made by La Cofradia i thought to give it a shot. Intintial aroma is that of its sweet maturation process inviting you to try. Its initial taste is that of a true authentic tequila, the body is complex and full flavor very satisfing, it has to be one of the smoothest most full bodied products I have ever had. the finish evokes and lets the agave flavor shine representing a complete package. For this price point I was highly impressed, the presentation is very authentic in a hand made decanter with historical background the origins of the whole tequila industry. Excellent!!!
