Appearance: Clear pale amber color. Aroma: Light, balanced aroma of agave, oak, fruit, and caramel. I also detected a slight alcohol aroma, which was not unpleasant. Initial Taste: Smooth and nicely balanced flavors of peppery agave, oak, butterscotch, and baking spices. No alcohol burn. Body: Medium-light body with light tears on glass. It has a nice mouth feel without being oily. Finish: Smooth, medium-long, and slightly heated finish of peppery agave, light oak, and baking spices. It leaves a mild numbing sensation and a slight earthy or mineral after taste in mouth, which builds after several sips. Enjoyability: The after taste detracted from the enjoyability. Price: The RRP is $26.99 per 750 mL bottle. This is a very good “value” reposado for mixing but I didn’t enjoy sipping more than one glass in an evening because of the after taste. However, I didn't notice the after taste if I was snacking on chips or nuts while drinking it. Overall, I think this is outstanding tequila for a party where you are mixing drinks and serving food. ]]> Fri, 07 Nov 2014 21:17:43 +0000 <![CDATA[30-30 Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2468 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2468 A nice value sipper. A good reposado combination of agave and aging for around $20. Very good value. Aroma: Earthy agave, ripe fruit and light caramel. Slight alcohol on the nose that actually complimented the other smells. Initial Taste: A light sweetness that included hints of brown spices. Body: Medium-thin body where the oak, earth and spice were prominent. Finish: A decent earthy & spicy linger of medium duration and a slight alcohol numbing. A decent finish and pretty smooth. For the price, this is a very good tequila. It works well as a sipper and the flavor profile lends itself to being a good well-rounded mixer too. The bottle and screw cap are nothing special, but this tequila is a very good value. ]]> Thu, 10 May 2012 03:04:50 +0000 <![CDATA[30-30 Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=608 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=608 30-30 Tequila Reposado, NOM 1068. I tasted this clear, golden amber spirit in a small Cognac snifter where it revealed a smoky agave, caramel, & oak nose. The taste started with hints of agave, oak, sweet cinnamon spice, & light alcohol. This sweet, medium bodied tequila continued with more spice & a slight numbing sensation throughout & finished in a long, rolling fashion, starting at the tip of the tongue & falling off the back into an essence. 30-30 Reposado is surprisingly smooth with a subtle taste of alcohol but no burn whatsoever. This is a great buy for the money costing far less than many blancos. Very impressed with every aspect except the bottle! A- ]]> Thu, 15 May 2008 16:03:09 +0000
