Great on my wallet, great in a margarita, and easy on my head when I overindulge. Too bad I have to travel out of state to purchase it. Agavales' twin brother, Morales, is available locally. ]]> Wed, 17 Jul 2013 21:47:24 +0000 <![CDATA[Agavales Tequila Gold: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1322 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1322 I am the bartender in a Mexican restaurant with a vast selection of quality tequilas and we now use Agavales as our house tequila for margaritas. Prior to this was Sauza gold and believe me, this is a HUGE step up. When I first saw the bottle I was certainly thrown off, but don't let it fool you. Luckily we don't have the plastic bottles, but the labels are quite cheap looking. For a 100% agave tequila the price is unbeatable. It is still considered a "gold" tequila, artificially colored and unaged. Its actually palatable by itself, the flavor is decent and considerably smooth, with a very short and hot finish. Throw this one back, don't spend too much time sipping it. Definitely suited for cheap margaritas for those who like to add sweet and sour, etc. Also available in a quite potent 110 proof variety. ]]> Fri, 18 Dec 2009 06:44:01 +0000 <![CDATA[Agavales Tequila Gold: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1319 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1319 This is probably the best 'margarita' tequila I have come across. But then I'm one of those who doesn't see the reason in drowning a top shelf tequila in lime juice and triple sec. We drink a lot of margaritas and have used Cazadores, El Jimador, Hornitos, Muy Especial, Sauza, Jose Cuervo (yuk!), Don Julio, Cabrito and Milagro and we like Agavales the best. About the only bad thing about it is that it comes in a plastic bottle so I always feel a little dirty buying it. But for $20 for a 1.75l bottle of 100% agave tequila, the feeling goes away quickly. I highly recommend this tequila for those making margaritas or other mixed tequila drinks. ]]> Thu, 17 Dec 2009 18:50:05 +0000
