I was really disappointed. ON the nose I got tonnes of petroleum product with a little licorice and pepper and just a touch of caramel. The initial taste was similar to the nose but mucho Oak. The body was complex yet I didn't really enjoy it. Finish super long..... one of the longest I have yet experienced. It actually has a load of black licorice to finish. This has sat in my cupboard for over a year now and I continually avoid it so I really don't enjoy it that much. I looked at the price and it was over 100$ cdn, I can think of many tequilas I like more for the price. Presentation is nice but nothing special. I actually like the blanco presentation the same for much cheaper ( and its one of my favorite blancos). ]]> Thu, 15 Sep 2011 04:57:09 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Noble Tequila Extra Anejo: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2057 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2057 Aroma: Vegetal, wood, caramel, a bit of smoke, and some agave. Initial taste: Sweet, wood and vanilla come through first. Body: There's agave hiding in there somewhere. Some complex flavors of wood, vanilla, and spice. Finish: It is definitely chocolate-like. The finish is the best part of this tequila, although it is a tad too hot for what I expected. Interestingly enough, this is my least favorite showing from the Casa Noble line, although that's not saying much because their other tequilas are outstanding. Overall, I wouldn't mind having this again, but I wouldn't make a pilgrimage to find it. ]]> Thu, 08 Sep 2011 07:16:55 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Noble Tequila Extra Anejo: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1077 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1077 Tasted out of a snifter. For not really caring too much for their blanco, this extra anejo is very tasty. Aroma: A very vanilla nose with lighter notes of fruit. Initial Taste: A very sweet entry, NO bitterness, semi oily moth feel, with an initial taste on vanilla. Body: A body consisting of wood, vanilla, fruit, agave (lighter) and smoke. Finish: A slightly heated finish with a woody, fruity lingering. My biggest problem with extra anejos is the loss of agave flavor. But that being said this is pretty good for what it is. ]]> Fri, 10 Apr 2009 03:14:29 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Noble Tequila Extra Anejo: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=767 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=767 A fantastic, rich tasting Anejo. I enjoy this tequila's thicker, oak and molasses flavor versus the "cleaner" style of anejo. Casa Noble Anejo has skyrocketed into my number one spot (for now anyway). A bit pricey, $85 in Western MA, but well worth it for those special occasions ]]> Sat, 23 Aug 2008 14:45:24 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Noble Tequila Extra Anejo: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=413 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=413 Casa Noble Anejo is aged for 5 years. This is bordering on what many people consider the longest that tequila should ever be aged. And it shows. The nose reveals quite a bit of caramel and smoke. The cooked agave aroma we are so used to from Casa Noble's Blanco and Reposado plays a mild, secondary role. The initial taste is heavy and bitter. One is immediately confronted with wood and smoke with secondary flavors of coffee and chocolate. Even on the tip of the tongue, subtle sweetness is overpowered by the wood in this tequila. Casa Noble Anejo does finish fairly smooth with a medium duration of earthy flavors, but overall I was not a big fan of this anejo. ]]> Tue, 04 Dec 2007 08:35:59 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Noble Tequila Extra Anejo: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=197 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=197 Casa Noble Anejo NOM 1137 Tasted 4/2/07. The tequila is a golden brown color and has an intense earth, caramel, and smoke aromas. Once you get past the intensity of the nose, you can smell moderate notes of floral and vanilla. On the tip of the tongue the tequila is mellow and soft and feels heavy in the mouth. While the tequila has no bitterness, it is actually fairly sweet and syrupy. Now onto flavor. The flavor has intense caramel. There is also moderate agave, vanilla, and floral attributes which are followed by mild fruit, smoke, and earth. The tequilas finish is a meduim duration of flavor followed by a numbing alcohol feeling. Overall, I rated this tequila at the A-/B+ level. ]]> Mon, 28 May 2007 04:39:03 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Noble Tequila Extra Anejo: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=81 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=81 A well balanced anejo that is full of wood flavor and still has some good spice an agave flavor still in it. A mild hot aftertaste. Very spicy as anejos go, not as smooth as I had hoped. ]]> Sun, 25 Mar 2007 00:15:32 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Noble Tequila Extra Anejo: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=4 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=4 This is the truest-agave tasting Anejo around. The solid agave notes do not get over-powered by the sharp, robust oak elements. The texture is very creamy and silky to the tongue. The secondary flavor notes include walnut, roasted agave and slight traces of spices like clove and nutmeg. I love it because it has the strongest agave presence of virtually all anejos in the market. The bottle is beautiful and unique, but congruent with the tequila it contains. The long spicy agave finish lacks teh variety/complexity of other fames anejos, but Im in for the agave taste, not wood notes. ]]> Tue, 19 Dec 2006 12:00:20 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Noble Tequila Extra Anejo: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=3 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/extra-anejos/discussions/review.html?id=3 In my opinion there is no better anejo out there; Casa Noble has made a classic tequila with this anejo, great character, sophistication and elegance. Casa Noble has a very interesting history starting in 1700s as a small distillery, which was part of this hacienda in Jalisco. Now it has remained a small distillery, which is based in the City of Tequila. What makes Casa Noble so special is the care they have in every single detail. Here is what I say: This tequila is presented in an incredible black porcelain bottle that is painted by had which makes it unique and extremely beautiful; every single bottle is numbered by hand. The bottle is only toped by what's inside, tequila that has an amazing brightness and body with intense copper color with golden hues. The aromas explodes in your nose with sweet honey that comes from the slowly cooked agave, combined with the notes from the white oak, vanilla, coffee bean and chocolate. Adding to the complexity of this spirit there are additional notes, citrus which is a signature of all the Casa Noble's, herbal and spice notes. Somehow through the production process they are able to capture all these and come out with balance. When tasting, again you have the explosion of flavors in the mouth that have a long pleasurable effect. When compared with seleccion suprema or reserva de la familia there is a resemblance but casa noble in my opinion has the complexity but maintains the essence of what tequila anejo should be, while the others go more into a cognac like category. ]]> Mon, 18 Dec 2006 11:39:33 +0000
