In my opinion, the bottle alone is one of the best I have ever seen. It is also presented in a box that has no front or back sides so the bottle remains visible.

Aside from the bottle, the product inside does not disappoint. I had the Milagro blanco in the past and thought that it was good and smooth but nothing really excited me about it. The SBR blanco is different. It is rested in barrels for a short time and for a blanco, I think the amount of time is perfect. You get a subtle hint of the oak in the taste and smell. It is very crisp and clean tasting; a great agave flavor. The "regular" blanco had a noticable peppery taste to it while the SBR blanco is less peppery and slightly spicy.

All in all, this is a great tequila. I had read a review that said it wasn't much better than the regular blanco offered by Milagro but I have to disagree. It's great by itself and equally so in a margarita or other cocktail. I was able to buy this tequila online in December 2013 for $44.99. My local store was selling it for about $67.00. I had bought the regular blanco June 2012 from the local store for $24.99 but I believe the price has increased.

I recommend the SBR blanco because the awesome bottle contains some pretty great tequila inside.

So far so good... but it pretty much goes downhill from here. The initial taste gives medium oil, with a slight burn, developing into a very sweet, clean and vanilla taste, giving an average overall body feel. It is fairly smooth, but too sweet, too sanitized and not enough pepper or bite. It finishes with a light burn from the alcohol along with fading flavors. They are hitting you hard on the price because of the absolutely beautiful bottle, hence the high rating on that, but I expected so much more.- Long Island Lou

A sharp smell.

Initial taste: Pleasing at first, but the longer it stays in your mouth, the less enjoyable it becomes.

Body: It tastes somewhat "off". It seems to be missing the pepper and agave notes that are so common among blancos. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but if I'm going to be surprised, I want it to be a good surprise.

Finish: A prominent burn from the alcohol along with some nice lingering smoothness.

This is a good tequila that I won't have trouble enjoying. However, for around $45 for a 750ml bottle, I expected a little more. It's presentation (the bottle comes in a box and has a glass agave plant on the inside of the bottle) is great, but the liquid inside failed to meet the standard set by the presentation.

Sallam!

I tried this first against pura vida and at the time I liked it more than pura because it was much sweeter and sugarry rather than being as herbal and liquoricy.

Here are my tasting notes from tonight

Smell: Sweet, Astringent, Sharp, Burnt Sugar, Alcoholly nose, vanilla, starchy cooked rice, slight lemon

Taste: Sweet, agave and hot, clean, complex non grazzy blanco. Initially I thought marshmallows, and sweet creme brullee. It is cloyingly sweet with a singular overtaste that is not at integrated as something like siete leguas blanco.

If you love carmelized sugar (and nothing else) buy a bottle of this. YES the bottle is amazing, but I'm probably going to not keep it forever. try it at velvet cantina in SF bar but dont buy the bottle unless u are into the glass. it does make a nice sound when poured. when am I going to get paid for writing reviews? I like Milagro Silver as a mixer. It's fine at $20 a bottle to keep around to use in a pinch, but not as a sipper to be savored. Something in this kind of packaging screams craftsmanship and class. Unfortunately, the juice inside doesn't live up to the packaging. It tastes pretty much the same as the regular Milagro Silver, but maybe filtered one more time to take even more taste out. It reminds me of Patron Silver. Smooth, OK taste, but not worth a premium price. There's so many other good blancos on the market for less money. Go get the Milagro SBR Reposado if you want the bottle because at least that one houses a good tequila inside.

Second, why did they bother to make the bottle so pretty when they should have bothered to put something in it worth drinking!

Seriously people, buy this and you are paying for the bottle. No doubt about that. I agree with Piña here. This isn't worth it.

Milagros Silver isnt very different from this select version. The select has more flavor and more vanilla and you dont want to spit it out as much.

Initial taste of sweet agave and vanilla

Finishes a little bitter vegetable and the after taste seems to be the weakest part.

Initial flavor is light citrus and agave, very clean. Good agave finish and alcohol burn. Noticeably different from Milagro Silver.

The nose was pretty light and had a lemon scent, but not overbearing. This was a very smooth silver. The flavor leaned toward citrus rather than agave, but it is still a nice flavor. If you enjoy a more citrusy flavored tequila you'd probably like this.

It had a surprisingly long finish with more agave coming throughout the finish.

To me, there wasn't any difference between this or the Milagro silver. it seems that this is nothing more than a marketing ploy to get the consumer to pay more for the same. I wouldn't even waste my money on this one (thankfully, I didnt). If you want to know what this tastes like, go and try Milagro silver. Same thing, different bottle.
