This Is it. My favriote blanco. It has and earthy and smooth agave taste. I rank'em like this from 3 to 1 ..#3. 1921 blanco #2 Fortaleza blanco #1 El Tesoro Blanco de Don Felipe. Classic stoned crushed 100% agave tequila. I highly enjoy this tequila. ]]> Fri, 05 Apr 2013 04:58:08 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2291 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2291 A good brand, but this one really doesn't do it for me. The other reviews are spot on. Aroma: Earthy and the olive smell is there. I do not care for green olives. It really spoils the agave for me. Initial taste: Agave is stronger here, but the green olive is still present. Body: Nice body and a smooth drink. Finish: A nice burn and it's smooth going down. The lingering flavor is OK. El Tesoro is a great brand and a very nice bottle. This particular tequila just isn't my cup of tea. If you like earthy tequilas and green olives, this is a great one for you. The price is a good one for a tequila of this caliber. ]]> Sun, 29 Jan 2012 02:40:56 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1423 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1423 good silver, one of the best for price,i've used it fo aging in my own barrels, and it makes a graet anejo, good stuff ]]> Mon, 15 Mar 2010 03:31:32 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1341 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1341 El Tesoro Platinum, begins with unsurpassed clarity and a very-long nose. It is difficult not to smell the green olive juice. The olives themselves have a sweeter smell that what I pick up in the tequila. The Blue Agave smell is next on the list followed by slight hints of citrus, black pepper, and finally juniper. All in all a very vegetal nose. The initial taste is very intense and hits you quickly with a strong green olive and blue agave flavor, a light body and a very long finish that seems to linger for a while. Great tasty sipping tequila. I take it straight but if that's too much try it on the rocks. ]]> Sat, 02 Jan 2010 22:22:27 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1207 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1207 I drank this out of a medium size sniffer. The nose is loaded with strong notes of agave, hints of green olive and a distinct earthiness. The first sip offered a burst of agave with hints of a green grape like fruitiness. It's extremely smooth. A second sip brought more agave with hints of pine nuts and a trace of spicy cinnamon on the finish. A few more sips brought some hints of green olives, lots of agave and some peppery spiciness on a fairly long finish. For me this is a fairly complex tequila, that is very smooth and worthy of sipping. ]]> Tue, 14 Jul 2009 13:30:23 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1155 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1155 Consistent with its origins in Arandas, Tesoro delivers aromas rich in earth and agave. A very mellow and slightly sweet entry leads to a very agreeable agave and mineral body. A slight bitterness develops and soon fades into a superbly clean finish offering pepper, spice and a trace of minerals. Pure and satisfying, this is clearly an exceptional blanco - top shelf. ]]> Mon, 08 Jun 2009 21:05:03 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=838 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=838 THis is my favorite tequila for drinking straight. They bottle it at the prooof it's distilled at so it truly is close to 100% Agave...not much water is added...unlike many of the other 100% agave which are distilled at over 100 proof and cut with water down to 80... For that reason it has a lot of pure agave flavor...Spicy, sweet and flavorful. Some of my friends think it is a bit too earthy because it has so much agave flavor, I have them cut it with water at about 3 parts tequila to 1 part high quality H2O... it takes a bit off the flavor, just like they are used to with the other 100% agaves that fget cut with a lot of water. It is a great sipping tequila.. ]]> Sat, 11 Oct 2008 00:35:12 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=779 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=779 I purchased this about a month ago and I feel it is decent for sipping but there was way too much pepper flavor for my liking so I ended up using it as a mixer and that worked fine.It is not oily and has almost no burn on the finish.I suggest trying it if you find some. I am still on the lookout for a great sipping blanco in my area.Of late I have really noticed blancos having lots of variation in taste from batch to batch.Let me know if you feel the same. El Tesoro Platinum is one of the smoothest blancos I have ever tasted. This is one of my top three favorite blancos. I personally would never use this as a mixer. It's also one of the 'sweeter' blancos I have tasted. Aroma: Hints of pine (I've not detected this in other tequilas) as well and citrus. Initial Taste: An oily mouth feel, on tip of tongue its initial taste is a sweet citrus. Body: Turns to very agave, with floral and fruity tones. Finish: Of medium duration, with no bitterness with no alcohol burn. ]]> Wed, 02 Jul 2008 18:57:11 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=632 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=632 El Tesoro Platinum has a flavor unlike any other unaged tequilas I have tried. The agave flavor is strong and earthy which I found quite tasty. And the smoothness on the Platinum is tops (no burn at all). Personally I would rather sip on the anejo or reposado but this is certainly one of the best white tequilas out there. ]]> Tue, 03 Jun 2008 06:36:29 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=463 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=463 Tasted in a caballito on January 30, 2008 showing lasting legs down the glass turning to droplets. The Platinum is more refined and less in your face than the silver used to be. I am a huge fan of the old Silver and while this is different the quality level is similar in a different style. Less Agave on the nose and palate but still a wonderful Tequila. To top it all off the price tag makes this an incredible value. It delivers more for $10-$15 less than the competition. ]]> Mon, 31 Dec 2007 09:12:50 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=419 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=419 El Tesoro de Don Felipe Platinum Tequila, NOM 1139. Crystal clear in color with very high, uniform legs. The first nose was deep earth with generous agave scents. A second nose revealed a smoky pine aroma. The initial taste was spicy with some bitterness. The body is light to medium light with the flavor of sweet root vegetables. I found the finish to be somewhat flat but with a nice openness. El Tesoro is quite smooth, absolutely no burn, but with a warm alcohol sensation throughout. I got a generous deal so I overrated the $. Top shelf. A-/A ]]> Tue, 11 Dec 2007 17:27:46 +0000 <![CDATA[El Tesoro de Don Felipe Tequila Platinum: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=174 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=174 El Tesoro Silver ? NOM 1139 ? Tasted 3/2/07. The tequila is clear color and has intense floral, fruit, and earth aromas. Once you get past the intense nose, you can smell mild notes of spice and smoke. On the tip of the tongue the tequila is mellow and soft while having a light intensity of taste and feels thin in the mouth. The tequila has a hint of bitterness and has a low amount of sweetness. Now onto flavor. The flavor has intense to moderate agave, earth, and floral attributes which are followed by mild spice, fruit, and smoke. The tequilas finish is a medium duration of flavor followed by a slight numbing alcohol feeling. Overall, I rated this tequila at the ?B+? level. ]]> Sun, 27 May 2007 06:54:39 +0000
