It starts off a little soft, but the finish on it makes up with the pepper on the back end. I also loved the smooth drinkability and will definitely pick this up again. ]]> Tue, 12 May 2015 20:29:29 +0000 <![CDATA[Avion Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=3371 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=3371 Tasted 01/29/15 from a Riedel Tequila Glass. Aroma: Nice clean crisp aroma of roasted agave with citrus and floral notes. Initial Taste: Very smooth and relatively mild creamy sweet agave with citrus, grassy and sweet fruit notes. Body: Slow tears on glass and a buttery entry. The body is silky smooth and the flavors are well blended with no alcohol burn. Finish: Medium-short finish of sweet agave and white pepper. It’s actually a little too smooth in that it does not have that great agave pepper kick that you want in a good blanco. Price: RRP of $40 Avion Silver is a wonderful blanco that is dangerously easy to sip because it is so smooth. Its roasted agave is nicely complimented by hints of citrus, fruit and pepper, giving it a soft yet complex flavor that I could enjoy any evening. It is not cheap with a RRP of $40, which is more than I want to pay for a blanco. However, I won’t hesitate to pick another bottle if I see it on sale. ]]> Fri, 13 Feb 2015 17:41:37 +0000 <![CDATA[Avion Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=3328 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=3328 This is a very solid tequila. I bought the 3 bottle sampler pack and this was my second favorite behind the reposado. To this date I've been comparing all blancos that I try to Don Julio as it is my favorite so far. I like my blanco to be light and crisp I dunno if that's popular or not so just know that's how I judge things. This has a nice clean bright smell to it which already told me that I should expect something good. The taste is very balanced with a crisp citrus agave tone to it. To me this falls in the same lines as Don Julio and Patron not the best of the best but it's good enough to accomplish what you want to get done. I wouldn't put this ahead of Don Julio, but it would be a good alternative and cheaper and better tasting than Patron. Bad, Good, Great? For me good, for what it is great! ]]> Mon, 13 Oct 2014 19:00:30 +0000 <![CDATA[Avion Tequila Silver: Top Pick]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=3170 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=3170 This is one of the best tasting tequilas that I have ever had. I greatly enjoyed it. Even as a blanco, it was full of flavor. It was quite extraordinary and I went through it in record time. I purchased a 750mL bottle for $36.99, which only added to the value. I mainly drank margaritas with it and loved every sip. This tequila would easily get people to continue to drink Avion or tequila in general and should be in your rotation to try if you haven't already. ]]> Tue, 07 Jan 2014 23:23:11 +0000 <![CDATA[Avion Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2786 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2786 Avion was a contender in a Taste testing with friends and the other Silvers were Cava de Oro, El Don, Espolon, Karma and Siete Leguas. I pretty tough field of good Tequilas. Avion tied for third with Karma. El Don being first and Cava de Oro a strong second. Avion is very smooth slightly citrus with nice Agave sweetness at the finish just not as much body and initial taste as the top two. Also noticable was the finish wasn't as strong as Cava de oro but still a good value when it's on sale. I paid $45 for it and would consider buying it again for $35. overall rating 92 ]]> Sat, 05 Jan 2013 22:59:44 +0000 <![CDATA[Avion Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2405 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2405 This tequila was the big winner at the SF Spirits Competition today. I figured that I had better give it a shot. Aroma: Nice pleasant agave nose with light citrus fruit and earth. Initial Taste: Great agave flavor. Citrus and light pepper. Body: A thick mouth feel for a blanco. Nice overall flavor with hints of grass and lemon along with the nice thick sweetness. Finish: On the softer side. Light pepper and short linger. However, it's a pleasant finish, not a disappointing one. Really, I can see this one being a big time crowd pleaser. The flavor is good, it's very smooth and it has all the good characteristics of a blanco...even if they are on the softer side. For $45, it's probably more than I'd want to pay, but if you look around, you can find it in the $30-35 range. My recommendation is to buy a flight of 50ML bottles for $9.99 (I bought mine at Hi Time) and give them all a shot to see what you like. I'll probably be buying a large bottle. ]]> Wed, 04 Apr 2012 02:07:11 +0000 <![CDATA[Avion Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2287 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2287 Tasted out of a Riedel glass. Im sure we are all aware of the hype surrounding this brand. My first reaction to anything hyped is pessimistic. But I went into this with a clear unbiased head. First off, the website is VERY uninformative, focusing more on the merchandising than the product. To sum up, I'd say this tequila is very 'unimposing'. I can see a 'newbie' loving it. But for me, it lacked character and 'umph'. Almost too smooth, maybe even watery? For me, it lived up to the hype ( in my world, the more hype, the weaker the product). Im just saying there are better blancos out there for your buck. Just my opinion, as always. Aroma: A faint aroma of vegetal and earth. Initial taste: A slightly 'creamy' entry with a hint of agave. Body: A light agave body, with hints of grass, and earth. Finish: Weak. Slight heat. With a slight agave lingering. Just not memorable. Im glad I got a tasting flight, because I have no desire to go get a bottle. ]]> Sat, 28 Jan 2012 18:10:36 +0000 <![CDATA[Avion Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2182 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2182 First tried this in NY when it came out. Was expecting more based on all the press. The initial nose was good along with the initial taste however the finish was not good. Almost a residual detergent taste. The GM came over while I was tasting it and he agreed with me on the finish. Unfortunately for Avion he said he would not be reordering. ]]> Mon, 26 Dec 2011 17:41:34 +0000 <![CDATA[Avion Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2061 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2061 Decided to try this since they recently dropped the price by $10.
